    Hi Beamerguy,

Thanks very much for your reply.

Should I go back to Nationwide with what you said above or do you think I will have more success with the FOS? x

Go back to Nationwide first with the questions and let us see their answer
  • Hi
My son has won a PPI claim with RBS on his Sainsburys Mortgage.
He knows he can no longer make any claims on his existing policy if he accepts the offer.
However he needs to take out a new PPI and RBS/Andrews Group/Sainsburys,have informed him that they will NOT PAY out on a future claim he has to make no matter whom he gets cover with.

DOES EVERYONE WHO HAS ACCEPTED OFFERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM ? MY SON WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCEPT THE MONEY.!!!!

Not my area of expertise, but surely if he takes a stand alone policy out his agreement is with his new insurer and nothing to do with RBS/Sainsburys?
It would be the insurer who decides whether to accept a claim and not the lender?

    Hi, well do0ne with MBNA

Barclays Bank are just one who are clogging up the FOS with their "fob offs". They are knowingly doing this so they do not have to pay out for months ahead. Even more disturbing is the statement made by Bob Diamond the CEO of Barclays that his firm would not quibble regarding payouts. BOB DIAMOND LIED ?

Ignore the final response rubbish, the only "final" you will accept is when the repay the money they stole from you. They committed fraud against you.

See the list below, if you can answer NO to any of them, you will be able to claim. DO NOT GIVE UP

*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?

If you answered no to any one of the above you could be owed thousands of pounds

    Hi beamerguy,

Many thanks for responding. So do you think it is worth going back to Barclays before FOS? If so, what should I say to them as their letter clearly states it is their final response. Your list above I can answer NO to at least half of these.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Firstly accept your win.
Then, get a local financial advisor to point you in the right direction for a new policy. Make sure you stay well clear of the St Andrews group, they are owned by Lloyds Bank and PPI's were/are not worth the paper they are written on.

As far as a new insurance to cover you, if it has nothing to do with RBS/Sainsburys ..... and they should keep their dirty little noses out of your private dealings

Hi, if you can answer no to half of them then go back to Barclays. You claim a mis-sell

Take no notice of the final response rubbish, it means ZERO so just hit them hard. No doubt the person who sent you the letter is one of the JERKS Bob Diamond said he wants to get rid of.
Remind them that they have committed fraud under the Fraud Act 2006

The loan monthly payment will only reduce on the upheld verdict and not because of overpayments, the overpayments should have reduced the loan balance,it is the interest that is a sore point,is it variable or fixed?.

    EDITED
All the monthly ppi paid by your sister was given back with the redress ,so the ppi overpayments did not come off the loan they came back to her.

Just had a thought; since my sis was paying PPI from October 2007 upto (and including) April 2011, that meant she made 43 payments, not 33. So when the £340 interest on the PPI is divided by 43 it's even less than the £10 I calculated before. Either way, I reckon she has paid far more than she should have in interest and considering the conduct of Norton Finance so far it's obvious they have no scruples but every intention to make this as difficult as possible for us.
    :(

    "Dear Sirs,

Further to your letter advising me you have rejected my claim and stating it is your final response. I hereby reject your letter on the grounds you appear to have ignored my complaint and that Barclays Bank mis-sold me PPI insurance without taking due care and attention as to whether the policy was suitable for my needs.
I list my complaints to you below and request you refund all payments together with interest.
If I do not receive a suitable response from you within the next 7 days, I will issue a County Court Summons to reclaim monies stolen from me under the Fraud Act 2006. This will also include my costs
