PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi amersall
My Friend went to Bank Wed as arranged on our visit on 29th Dec primarly to collect PPI Agreement copy as request on 29th and ask for bit further back Transactions (my mistake on dates ) No PPI Agreement available as promised said different Dept - and they tried AGAIN to get him to fill in to Activate PPI on Phone while there- He told them No again !!! There is no recording disc of the Phone Sale of the PPI - so that leaves me to tell of frequent pressurising calls etc. and lack of proper questions asked by Salesman.
When I read the letter that came with the Transactions requested on 29th Dec and found Barclays have charged £5 again which I paid on My Card on 29th so I have just put a note through his letterbox this evening that he has to go in Friday and tell them to refund Immediately and wait while they do it. I have circled it on letter and put already paid - told him to show them the letter and if necessary my note to him to go in again on Friday - inconveniece. and Get their act together
We will be phoning on Monday to get copy PPI Agreement and I will give them a blast for deducting £5 - and tell them to read request documents properly - noting I have paid £5 and insist on an apology to my Friend for removing extra £5 and any charges that have occured.
Do you think it would be a good idea to get my Friend to give me Authority to Deal with all this at Barclays - they are set on Conning him and it is lucky that he does exactly what I tell him and what not to do like signing anything but they are going to catch him out sometime when he doesnt know what to do and I am not there to advise
ammersall please have a look at this my latest and advise - it was posted couple of pages back - these pages add so quickly.0 -
Hi there,
Was wondering if any of you good people would be able to give me some advice. I have been reading through the forum for a couple of months and have had a success so far from MBNA CC - sent them the questionnaire from here on 4 November 2011, received a letter from them on 11 November 2011 saying there were investigating. On 23 November received letter upholding claim!!, cheque will be sent within 28 days. Received a cheque on 1 December 2011 for just under £3,500. To say I am happy is an understatment!!! Christmas was very good.
However, have today received rejection from Barclays on a loan which dates back from early 2001. Loan was for £5,000 over 5 year period. Loan was paid off in 2006. When I took out the loan I distinctly remember being told that as I was a single parent I could not have the loan unless I took the PPI. At the time working full time for a company who would have paid me up to 6 months full pay and also at the time I had a mortgage and had full mortgage protection.
Barclays say this is their final response and I now need to go to the Ombudsman. My question is should I go direct to the FOS or try going back to Barclays.
Any advice would be welcome.

Hi guys, I have not retained the paperwork relating to any of my credit cards - apart from statements - nor have I any evidence to support a claim for miss-selling. Surely not everyone who has ever held a credit card can claim compensation?
This is in contrast to our mortgage where we retained all the paperwork and were eventually able to obtain several thousand pounds from RBS for miss-selling an endowment after a tremendously long battle.
Thanks for the advice so far.0 -

Metoyou
Hi metoyou if it was a loan from then it should have been upheld anyway as it was obviously front loaded which is a big no no, anyway fos it now, i've even had barclays uphold one of mine then reject it again what sort of bank are they? the fos will uphold this, i think there's truth in what my mate beamer says on here about the banks running out of money and trying to buy time, they will have to payout in the end but will try to drag it out.0 -

Not all credit cards get upheld it depends on the method of sale and of course the reasons, online applications are the hardest but they still get upheld.0 -
Hi All,
I have currently made a claim with halifax for mis sold insurance on my credit card and I was successful in my attempts. They sent me a cheque for £1100, which I desposited in my bank. But 2 days ago they sent me a statement and on there it showed they have added the £1,100 onto my balance. Previously my balance was £5,000 and now it has gone to £6,100. How can this be? This means they have not paid me anything at all as they have added it onto my balance, not even taken it off.
I am currently in a debt mgt plan as I have a few credit cards, and i pay no interest just a fixed paymenbt each month on how much i can afford.
Any advice would be most welcome, shall i ring them, or write to to them and what shall i say?
Many Thanks in Advance

Thanks again. I assume the next step is to contact M&S Money to establish how long we have had their credit card - we started with a store card - and the basis upon which we took it out.
As a matter of interest, has anyone successfully claimed from Marks and Spencer Money?0 -
Hi downsman, I have a claim in with m and s for a storecard and loan I took with them many moons ago, my 12 weeks is now approaching and I haven't heard anything. To be honest I don't hold out much hope but will wait and see.0

i have received an offer for my ppi claim but its complicated by the facts that the acc in qustion was a joint one with an ex partner. She didnt financially contribute to the loan, but was named from day 1 until the loan was repaid. In my offer it mentions that the offer will be split 50/50 between both parties - is this correct if i was the one who made all financial contributions???

Hi davey i'm not too familier with the joint accounts but it sounds likely that you could talk too the lender to sort this out but probably the only way round this is to get your ex to forgo her half, amersall will be on later she will probably know more about the answer to this question.0
