can anyone tell me
im doing a ppi on behalf of sister.
she has 8 loans which she took out but she lost the papers.
on the first template letter to request copies of agreements.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/3b580615
Do I just write down all the account numbers one after each other and ask for copies of all the 8 loan agreements in one go on the same letter?
also, do you have to pay £8 to cover all 8 loan agreements or will £1 cover all of them?
im going to do them all in one go
thanks
For loans still running, you can request a copy for a £1 for each loan..0 -

I have stated that they have no evidence that supports their claim that I am eligible to claim on the policy in fact i can prove the opposite I also stated that i will be looking at charging them with fraud if I don't get a proper lawful response, so now I feel so much better, I'll sit and wait...........Happy New Year!! :rotfl:
Thats the way to go jeannie, it's all these fools at the banks understand0 -
Hello and festive greetings!
Thanks to MSE helpfiles for encouraging me to take the plunge and apply for a PPI reclaim.
Would someone be able to advise me? Co-operative have been helpful and straightforward with my application for PPI reclaim. However they can only find records dating back to October 2000. I found evidence from credit reports that show the account began in February of that year, but apparently this is not enough to increase the PPI payment offered. Below is an excerpt from the letter I received this month:
"I understand you have asked for us to recalculate our offer of [£xxxx.xx], which covers the term of October 2000 to November 2011, as you have provided credit reference reports indicating that your account opened in February 2000.
"Our offer was based on evidence of Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) transactions located on the monthly statements available on our systems. Although we are only obliged to hold such information for a period of six years, in this instance we were able to locate statements as far back as October 2000. Whilst the information you have provided matches our own data regarding when your account opened, February 2000, we only offer refunds of transactions for which we have evidence.
"Based on the above, I can confirm that the offer in our letter of November remains unchanged. However, if you are able to provide statements predating October 2000, which show PPI transactions being added to the account, we will be happy to add these to our offer."
Is it worth pursuing this in anyway? If so, what can I do?
I cannot find a copy of the credit agreement - is it likely the bank will still have a copy?
I cannot find any statements from that time to back up my claim.
I must say I was very surprised to be offered anything at all, and would be happy with what I have been offered, except for a tiny voice in my head, which is wondering if due to lack of knowledge, I could be shortchanged. The credit card helped to bridge the gap while a student, and repayments with the unbeknownst addition of PPI were quite a burden. It would be nice to be able to claim back to the start of account, which is undoubtedly when the PPI would have been added.
Hope you can help to put my mind at ease over this issue. Many thanks fellow forum users.0 -
Thanks amersall I thought I was advising the right way to go but just needed that confirmation that I was correct - It is a big responsibility for me to be advising someone that trusts you.
I think I will still try for copies of statements going back the start of the PPI for me to see how the Charges/Interest have kept him going just over limit because of not knowing when Charges coming and to leave some JSA in to cover because if he hadnt got the PPI and Interest charge coming out odd times up tp limit wouldnt have happened.
Thanks for your advice and I will update after Bank visit - I will then need a bit of help with the Claim letter and Form0 -
Hi, I'm new to posting on here so I hope this ends up in the right thread! Having read a considerable amount of information on here about PPIs, I took the plunge around September to try to reclaim. Initially I started with EGG and then, looking through paperwork I'd forgotten about, I found PPI on a sofa I had through DFS and an old Lloyds TSB loan fromm 1999. EGG have told me over the phone today that they're paying back over £3600 and I've already been successful in claiming back £280 from DFS. I can't thank everyone enough for sharing all their knowledge on here, reading it made me pretty sure that I had a good case.
I'm hoping that someone can help me with another bit of information. I have the original loan agreement from Lloyds TSB and although in the SAR documentation Lloyds TSB have provided, there is a screen print relating to the amount of the loan, what I really want to find out is what information they used to base the loan on at the time. I'm pretty sure that I was a student but know I had a job that finished sometime in 1999. Lloyds TSB say that they don't have the original application due to the length of time and this is understandable, but if they have a screen print relating to the amount of the loan, would they not have further information in the form of screen prints they should be able to provide? I'd like to get my facts straight before I persue this and really don't want to make a claim for anything that I'm not entitled to.0 -

Hi i have had this myself with LTSB i only got screenshots as well not any real info but like yourself i think that if they can give you an account number they know far more than there letting on, i fossed mine in the end as i got sick and tired of arguing with the bank as i knew i had ppi ,they told me they had no record of ppi which is cobblers, keep pressing this.0 -

Hi hebe the banks are all coming this 6 year lark now probably the only way you could get any more would be to run a complaint through the fos.0 -
Hi Cappo. Thanks for your advice. I will certainly consider approaching the FOS.0

Hi all,
i put in a complaint to Lloyds late october for two credit cards that I had some 10yrs ago, I know that i would have been paying for PPI but had no proof. All I had was the last 4 digits from my credit report. They wrote back saying I had PPI on one but not on the other (am disputing this) Anyway, today I received a letter from Lloyds dated 23rd Dec, stating they will pay me £538!! Based on the fact they have no statements etc. Am very happy with this as the balance was only ever a few hundred pounds.
however, am now very excited as at the same time I asked them to look at all the loans I had with them, letter came back with 5 account numbers for loans......so assuming that they have paid out on the credit card then they will pay out on the others, trouble is I can't remember any of the loan amounts other than one that was for 7500 around 2000 and another that was early 90's with my then partner for 15 grand. fingers crossed I may be lucky!!!!!
ONE DOWN FIVE TO GO........:beer:IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -

Good for you jeannie i think your right to be suspicious as i said in my earlier reply to you, i had two credit cards and two loans originally, they told me i had no ppi on any of them which i knew was rubbish as i always covered myself with the nature of my work (i was self employed at the time) did'nt realise i could'nt claim of course anyway i've got them to admit to ppi on 2 loans (took me 6 months of tooing and frowing though) i got so sick and tired of there lies i fossed the credit cards.0
