If you have a basic account with no cheque book, why bother with the banks.

    THE ANSWER
Get a prepaid Mastercard/VISA, you can have your wages paid in and you can pay money into your account by using Paypoint
    http://www.paypoint.co.uk/locator.aspx

You can either pay cash and get a receipt then enter the receipt number online or just swipe your card through a paypoint machine, either way the money goes on your account immediately.

As its a Mastercard/VISA you can use it in any ATM Worldwide

Its not a credit card, you can only spend what is on your account.
The best on the market is the Virgin Prepaid Mastercard/VISA, no credit checks, just prove you are a voter
    http://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/splash/prepaid-cards.jsp

The card costs £9.99, you get in 5-7- days and you can decide how you are charged.

Basically, STUFF stupid banks like RBS and LLOYDS who deserve every lost customer, idiots:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • I'm after a bit of advice. I contacted Egg about PPI on my loan back in July 2010 but they were more than unhelpful and wouldn't even give me a final response (even though I had followed procedures) therefore I had no other option but to take the matter to the FOS in October 2010.

The Adjudicator contacted me in early July 2011 to answer a few questions. What seems to be holding the matter up is Egg saying that they have no recorded record of me talking to the sales rep and me telling them that I did not need PPI. We are now in October and I have not heard from either the adjudicator or Egg.

Should I contact the adjudicator or leave it be as I am aware that they are very busy. It seems to be taking forever, and it's not exactly a large amount of money that I claiming back.

    Many Thanks!

Anna, EGG have a really bad reputation, if they have no recorded info, they cannot prove otherwise, then assume they added this to your account without permission, that is theft and fraud, something that other banks have done, in particular, Capital One.

1: Write to EGG and suggest they applied the PPI to your account without your permission unless they can prove otherwise.
2: Inform the adjudicator that you believe that EGG charged you for PPI without your permission which is theft

You say "I am aware that they are very busy" ???

These Banks love nice people like you, it saves them a fortune.
Busy or not, the adudicator has a job to do in the public interest.

Regardless of the amount, its better off in your pocket than these greedy banks.
    GO GET IT BACK:j:j

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly!! :j:beer:

Yep - I think they are lulling me into a false sense of security - then BAM knockback with 'sorry you don't have PPI' basically as it was so long ago and they don't have the paperwork? :(

I've been fighting LTSB for the last 6 months keewee they've been telling me i did'nt have ppi when in fact i knew i had it on all my loans and credit cards with them, guess what got an email yesterday saying they'd made a mistake and they were sending me out an offer for the loan next week, stick with it they will say anything to avoid paying out.

If it was a Virgin Money credit card then it is operated by MNBA AND THAT IS WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH.

MNBA, part of the Bank of America sold fraudulent PPI's

How best to proceed then? Call them? Complain to someone, e.g. FSA/FOS? MBNA sent me the info for one account, but still nothing for this one.
