    Guys,
I know i'm a regular but just found some paperwork with Halifax for a secured loan with the above on it, I checked and it's been paid off with equity taken out on the house, but I'm assuming I just go about the reclaim in the same way as unsecured lending?
    Cheers:D

Hi Guys, Congratulations to all winners today..:T:Tthere are some big one's in there :money::money: BRILLIANT!!

Just after some advice please...my claim has been in with CB & i emailed them yesterday after they said they would be in touch with a positive update...well..they never got in touch so i emailed them and the reply this morning was that they need to speak to me with regards to my claim :o...Has anyone else had this? I know Smitchy had mentioned that someone had rang his OH before but didnt elaborate on what was said.

Anyway, lady rang me this afternoon & i was at work so i told her i would ring her back at 9 am tomorrow....the thing is i'm feeling really nervous & i dont want her to put words in my mouth :o:o... I was just wondering what to say to her...in my complaint i stated that the loans were always conducted in the bank and i was advised that it was looked upon as favorable when ppi was added, and not having the most gleaming credit history i was influenced by this advice, also, i was never really explained to what ppi was all about as i already had private policies to cover what the ppi could have offered me......

Is there any other advice/guidance you guys could give me as what to say when i call her.....i am a nervous wreck as i am not the confrontational type at all :o

Thank you very much :):) xx

I cant help with what to say but I once had a conversation with a wise man who asked me why I thought he always paused before replying/speaking to me and when i said i didnt know he said it was because he was formulating in his mind how to reply. this has stood me in good stead for years. if you can try to write down all of the questions they ask (or record it if poss). I am sure you will be fine and I will be thinking of you. As Di has already said if necessary tell them you would prefer all communcation to be put in writing. Good luck. Look forward to hearing how it goes.

I am the worlds worst worrier so I know how you feel. Also my mum always said that I wasnt to worry about anything as she would do the worrying for me so if it helps I will do your worrying for you.

    Take Care.

Thank you di :):) I will be awake all night!!hahaha. I would rather not speak but it wont kill me..i will let you know how i get on :):)xx
sunny, if it's Carol i'm sure it'll be just to give you some good news, I think if it was a rejection they'd just tell you a letter was in the post, but if it starts to head towards a grilling just stop the conversation and ask her to correspond with you by email or letter, and take a note of who, when and time and date etc of the phone call.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
  • Hi Smitchy and Di - thanks for your advice!

I think Clydesdale have paid out the loans because they were front loaded and nothing to do with my circumstances!

Incidentally, most of the loans were to clear the credit card debts!

pepe, I think you're right, but the FSA handbook says that they have to treat all ppi the same, supposedly, they keep hitting people with the same excuses that they signed the form and ticked the box, it's not an excuse so they aren't following the handbook from the FSA so when it goes to FOS they should find in your favour.

Hi Smitchy, it is someone called Gina...Carol has passed it on to her. Thats what i thought...surely they would not want to ring me to get more info if they were to just simply say no, however, this might just be a 'going through the motion thing'. I have worked within the NHS for the last 13 years & had private policies so i was more than covered, so i seen you had said this to someone else to mention, so i will tell her this tomorrow also.

I have noticed someone on here saying that they wanted evidence of private policies..i dont fancy having to stoop to that but if i have to photocopy them & send them i will...thanks for the advice buddy :):)xx
