    Hi Guys,
Can someone please offer some advice on this for me?
I have recently reclaimed for mis sold PPI that I took out on a FirstPlus loan that was settled early after just one year (full 12 months payment). I am unsure how much I should expect back as compensation.

    Loan Details

    Cash loan £35600.00
    The PPI loan was £8718.44
    Total Credit £44318.44
    Monthly PPI payments of £84.01
    Monthly loan payment £343.01
    Total monthly payment £427.02
    APR 8.4%
    Loan Term 180 months

    Settlement figure

    Total payable under agreement £75067.89
Less rebate on early settlement -£33096.57
    Plus admin charge £150.00
    Total payable to settle £42121.32

    The letter doesn't detail how much PPI was rebated. It states;

The rebate allowed has been calculated in accordance with the consumer credit (rebate on early settlement) regulations 1993, and include a rebate of the PPI premium (where appropriate).

Not sure if any PPI was rebated at settlement or not.
  • Hi Di3004,

I hope you are keeping well. Halifax promised to contact me on the 31st August, 2011, I thought by now I would have received a letter since today is the 1st of September, 2011. Nothing came throught the post, and this is not a good sign. Di3004, do you know anything or someone who has received a reply from Halifax?

I know this has been discussed before but the tax that is liable for the interest part of the reclaim, is it just a case of contacting hmrc to see how much is due or what gets done? Anyone got a clue, or are most people not bothering?
Thanks to all the competition posters.

I'm a bit confused as to how the figures were calculated by Niggly. Now I know that my complaint is being upheld I want to make sure that Lloyds don't try to muck me about with the figures.

Can anyone help me with explaining how the PPI figures calculated by Niggly are worked out?

You need to inform HMRC, either by contacting them or including it on your tax return (if you complete one).

    Hiya

I am fine thank you and you? ;)

Hmmm not defending them, but its just a "possibility" of the bank holiday post, but what I would do is definately contact them tomorrow if you've not heard or received anything.
    Sorry your still waiting though.

I cannot recall on the top of my head about Halifax, but do give them a call tomorrow if nothing's arrived.

    Fingers crossed x;)
