PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi a couple of weeks ago Santander sent me a letter saying that i had been awarded £425.16 premiums, interest £155.29 and loss of cash £40.70. I didnt have to sign to accept or anything it was added to my card and the amount owing was reduced, but i have had the cupboards out and i think i paid more in premiums than they paid me-should i ask them to have another look at this?
Any advice gratefully received as always
Lisa
any suggestions and anyone had an luck emailing ceo of santander?0 -
marcusarelius wrote: »Hi Di,
thanks - the settlement figure was about 24k (there was £4898 as the PPI part on the original loan) Definitely no mention of any PPI refund on it either - just dug out the settlement sheet.
Having heard about my current loan being upheld (should get figures tomorrow) i was checking on this one.
With the settlement figure being £24k do you still think that contaings the £4898 ppi section as i thought at the time this was just an interest charge from Barclays?
Hiya
With one of mine then for example, I settled a secured loan early and just after a few months, the ppi was that of under £11K, and I received back in PPI refund with interest almost £13K, so in your case it should therefore be the full amount of PPI of just under £5K plus interest on top of this.
What you could do is post up the calculations of the loan on here, such as the date it was taken out, the amount, when it settled and so on, and Niggly, Tifosi etc will check them out for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Lisa
I think it's worth a shot, tell them you have since found the paperwork and it seems they were a bit short on what you should receive and you would be grateful if they could look into this and consider paying you a further cheque payment for this.
Good luck.:) x
I've never had any dealings myself with Santandar but I did make a reclaim on a store card ppi on behalf of my son, we did not bother emailing because they had only taken 2 weeks to sort and resolve this case.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

My daughter has her original agreement and the PPi box is clearly prefilled in and underneath it says sign if you wish to add this to your account and the signature box is filled in with a solid black line so i know we didnt agree to this. But the store assistant who filled in our applications explained in great detail that account cover will be added to our account and this was to cover purchases i.e if you purchase anything and it then was reduced within 60 days you could claim the difference back. Not once did she explain it was ppi. It's only after the recent high lights in the media did we further look into it.
Good luck with your case

Hi Guys,
Not sure if I have come to the right place, apologies if I am posting on someones thread!
I have recently reclaimed for mis sold PPI that I took out on a FirstPlus loan that was settled early after just one year (full 12 months payment). I am unsure how much I should expect back as compensation.
Loan Details
Cash loan £35600.00
The PPI loan was £8718.44
Total Credit £44318.44
Monthly PPI payments of £84.01
Monthly loan payment £343.01
Total monthly payment £427.02
APR 8.4%
Loan Term 180 months
Settlement figure
Total payable under agreement £75067.89
Less rebate on early settlement -£33096.57
Plus admin charge £150.00
Total payable to settle £42121.32
The letter doesn't detail how much PPI was rebated. It states;
The rebate allowed has been calculated in accordance with the consumer credit (rebate on early settlement) regulations 1993, and include a rebate of the PPI premium (where appropriate).
Not sure if any PPI was rebated at settlement or not.0 -
Hi guys
I had put my claim in at Halifax.for my PPI, and have recieved a letter to say that they will pay it back to me in the sum of £38.00.
PPI has been on the account since 2008 and it's been paid every month, but the sum seems a little low in the grand scheme.
They card had a limit of £500 but I had never exceeded this.
Where do I go from here? Or would you say that this seems about right?
Thanks0 -
