    Hi Guys

Further to my post on the forum in June (above I think!). Just got home and phone rang. Hubby answered and then put phone down and then informed me it was the Halifax and he told them "No thanks, he has just got in from work and is trying to relax". QUESTION - would they have rung about the PPI as the last contact we had was in June saying they will resolve our complaint in 16 weeks (we are at 9 weeks this week) or would they send a letter. He thinks that they were just ringing to sell something but they never ring. The number they rang from was 08007312316. Do I thump him now or later??

    Thanks.

    C.

Hi just read your post i should think that the halifax wanted to try to sell you something,i would think it's just a marketing call.

hi could someone please clarify self employment reclaiming i have ppi on my mortgage with lloyds also 2 loans with m+s read my terms and conditions and it states if your business ceases to trade or you have to go bankrupt confused as i am self employed as a collecting agent working on behalf of a credit company so neither of those clauses apply to me. i work on a commission basis only and my hours of work fluctuate from one week to the next, lloyds have told me over the telephone that the insurance covers self employment but im not so sure read all the posts on here and people are saying some policys do so where do i stand regarding reclaiming. many thanks.

I would think generally speaking if you were self employed you could'nt claim on a ppi policy. i personally would claim misold, i actually are having the same thing with LTSB at the moment, i was self employed when i was sold my ppi and i'm claiming.

    Hello there :)

Firstly, I would email both the CEO and copy it to the customer team to ensure a quicker feedback. Give them as many details as possible, if they've suppled a complaint ref number use that.

Secondly, if you've not made a start on the reclaiming just yet, then yes complete the reclaim questionnaires, keep copies in case they do end up going as far as the FOS, for example, if your not happy with the final outcome, the final decision letter normally comes with enclosed details and the leaflet of the FOS on how to complain to them.

If you've only just recently made the complaint, then they will have or should have wrote back to confirm receipt of the complaints and give a timescale, the norm is that of 8 weeks, but the FSA have given so many banks extra time such as in this case 16 weeks to deal with these complaints due to a backlog.

But if you have already made the complaints and have not heard anything at all, chase them up for an update.

Hope this helps and good luck.;)

    Hi di3004,

Thanks again for your help, bashing out the email after this. I think I may speak for everyone that is trying to reclaim, we feel like we're going round and round in circles chasing our tails. However being able to vent and have kind people like you on this forum reply with info like you've given just gives us all a little glimmer of sanity on this mad situation.

    Cannot believe this :eek::eek::eek:
Send an email to osario at Lloyds, put account number and friends name, make it brief, just say that the ppi claim was upheld and paid out but that the ppi is still on the loan and there has been no response from Lloyds concerning this for 3 weeks,if they do not deal with this error within 14 days they give you no choice to take this to FOS.
do this and see what happens x.
Put also that you want redress for the time and effort you have spent on this and you will accept cash only :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi amersall,

Thank you so much for the above. Hope I didn't come across as wanting you to line feed us as to what we need to put into the email.

After the conversation my friend has had with LTSB today and trying to get an progress update, (didn't even get that far - was just told to go straight down the complaint route). We both feel that they've been told differing things too many times almost makes us want to give up. However, we will persevere.

    Thanks again :A

LTSB are good at this, i'm having nightmares with them at the moment, just trying to get any info out of them is a real pain,if they don't want to pay out on a claim don't they let you know about it,keep persevering, good luck
