Hi sorry only just got back on here,9 months mate,i never thught it was going to get sorted out, still waiting for the hsbc ones,i see by your profile your a painter, top notch thats what i did before my stroke keep those rollers rolling.0 -
My husband went through GB for our loan (not what I wanted) and we are now in the same position. We will now have to pay GB over £3000!!!!!!!!! How can I get out of this? I note your comments about CMC. Please excuse my ignorance but what does that stand for? I was thinking that if I go through them, paying the £135 per hour for 5 hours will still be cheaper!!
Hi cookie, claims management company is what it stands for,i don't think you'll have any luck with getting out of paying there fee unfortunately like me you'll have signed a contract and will have to still pay up, look on the bright side if you have a fee of £3000.00 you had a good claim.0 -

you should only have to pay a maximum of 25% + vat how much are you being charged by them, you could go down the route of asking them to do it on an hourly basis but at the point of a win it's probably to late.:)0 -

I'm currently have two claims going through with HFC which have been ongoing now for a year ( the court case delayed them) but now I am being told that a final decision will be made by Aug 31st what is the reason for this? as HFC have told ne nothing as to why just that decision will be made then?
starting to get frustrated with them now
could be as part of hsbc they have the same extension, which is claims put in before 20th april -may have until the end of august to be "investigated" i'm having the same with hsbc, think of all that interest though.:)0 -
Sorry missed this one
£2729 (1560 principal 1169 interest)
Cheers Niggly
That is near as makes no difference what I got.
That is interesting, because the card I have now has a balance of around £1,000 and the PPI is around £10.00.
The balance has been as much as £3,500 and that was probably from 1998-2005.
So in theory, the PPI could have been as much as £35.
I wish HBOS would hurry up :rotfl:
If I get paid out on all 7 loans and the CC then my post in the successes section could be rather long winded.I'm a secret crime fighter

You have to use a pragmatic approach to these things the actual calculations for CC are lengthy and require statements for each month you had the card.
This link goes to the FOS case studies on redress. Have a gander at the CC section. I am bending my head around it so has to help others understand what they will get depending at what position the ppi and card is in.

Apologies if this has already been asked or if I'm just being a bit thick.
I thought in the PPI reclaim help guide there was a sample letter to send initially to the bank. Is there one, as I can't seem to see it?
Thanks in advance.

I have a claim going through with HFC it has been with FOS for over 14 months and l received a e-mail from my adjuicator last week to advise me:.could be as part of hsbc they have the same extension, which is claims put in before 20th april -may have until the end of august to be "investigated" i'm having the same with hsbc, think of all that interest though.:)
HFC Bank are planning to make offers on a number of their cases with us, and while I cannot guarantee that your complaint will be one of these, it is causing delays in our process. I will let you know when I have more information :
I am now wondering as HFC are now part HBOS and they appear to be making offers through FOS will some of us who have cases with FOS get a offer soon. Be interesting to know if HFC have made any offers lately through FOS0 -
Hi very new to this thread so please be patient Im usually just a lingerer around the grabbits board !! thanks to Martin I was inspired to claim back PPI which I was sold with my Mortgage with LLoyds. The policy started in March 1994 and paid monthly £18.90 + an insurance premium tax of 0.95p every month. I started a claim for misselling in July 2010 and I also cancelled my policy with them at that time. I had a letter today from the FOS telling me Lloyds have now agreed to make an offer to settle which will be based on the general approach that the FOS takes when they decide that a consumer has been missold a PPI policy. I understand they will refund the premiums, add interest at the rate of 8% simple (what is this?) per year from the date the premium was paid to the date of settlement. The FOS write that if I would like to accept the offer i do not need take any action and if they dont hear from me in the next 14 day they will assume I am accepting the offer and will inform Lloyds TSB. So if anyone can help me with the calculations as to what I am accepting I would be very grateful. I worked it out at about £3400 but hubby says that is too much? please can anyone help Thanks very much
Off the cuff you are both in for a nice surprise:eek::eek::eek::rotfl:
March 1994 to July 2010 is 16 years 4 months (196 months)
196 x £19.85 = £3890.6
8 % simple interest on each payment is £4082.4
Total at July 10 is £7973
Simple interest on this is at 8% £637.84
Total gross £8610.84 I feel a song coming on.......... the interest of £4720.24 is taxable income though so if over personel allowance it will be a bill of £944
TOTAL NET IS £7666.84 do you need a stamp?
