Hi guys sorry not been posting much as been in and out last few days, congratulations mandy, nice post niggly, has anyone had any good news from the postie this morning and has anyone had an update on Di's brother?0

Had an copy of offer yesterday via email but it did not have the breakdown figures in it. However in the letter it says:
"In addition to the above we will also add consolidated interest accrued which will be credited to you on acceptance, although generally this is relatively small compared to the above offer"
Blah, blah, blah
"The offer we are making takes into account the PPI premium(s) you have paid plus the interest applied to them. In addition, we have applied an additional 8% compensatory interest from 24 November 2010, the date we should have initially received your complaint.
We believe this will return you fully to the position you would have been in had the PPI never been applied to your account."
Does anyone understand this and, if so, am I right in thinking they are only adding 8% from 24/11/10 until they receive the acceptance? Shouldn't the 8% be added to each individual PPI payment from the date it was made until now or did I dream that up?
Well done mandy:):beer::j:money:;)0 -
It says additional interest of 8 % this is the amount you are owed from the time you complained until now. You will also get 8% on the PPI premiums from inception as well. Its good news.
N
Thanks for that Niggly... I thought they were saying only giving 8% from complaint until now... wow that is good news... will have to wait for their breakdown...

Can anybody help us? My other half had a buttons account going back to 1999 which included ppi which he can't even remember asking for, we've sent several letters to Santander who say they haven't been receiving them! Now the last one we sent has finally got to them and we've received a letter this morning saying that as the account is so old they do not hold any information on it, yet it wasn't closed until 2004-2005, were not sure, sent a sar request but haven't received it yet! Were about at the end of our tether with them!! We do have quite a few statements which clearly shows he was paying ppi, but they've said unless we can now prove the ppi was missold that their final answer is that they will not be doing anything!!!! There's quite a bit of money that was paid in ppi on these statements, some months it was in excess of £40.00! HELP!!
My next gripe is mint, we've wrote to them several times and sent for a sar and they keep saying they do not hold any information in my partners name, today received cheque and request for sar back and they are asking for his credit card number which he no longer has! This account was not closed until 2006, I thought they had to keep your details for at least 6 years? Where do we go with this?
Phew! Rant over!!0 -

Hi carly i would mention getting the fsa and information commisioners office involved as it seems you have tried to be reasonable with them0 -
Hi All,
Have been unable to catch posts this week, having quick update this weekend...glad to see some great results...well done to all!!!
Also, Sorry , Di to hear that your brother has been so poorly, hoping for good news.
Today, the Daily Mail carries a truly horrific story about a mis sold PPI!!
A chap took a £15,000 loan, with PPI...had a car crash, was injured horribly, and guess what, insurance NO GOOD AT ALL!!!
He lost a leg , broke his neck, couldn't work, and now....is bankrupt, lost everything, and the loan has escalated to £250,000!!!
If that is not criminal, what is?
Cheers, just thought you might like to read this...it certainly depicts the ethics ( or lack of them) behind these greedy, obscene bankers!!!

Well done Mandy :T:j Congratulations!
They are putting you back in the position as if you did not have PPI, so what you paid, plus interest on each payment, and interest to date, something along those lines it seems to be, well done.;)
Cappo, and everyone else, thank you for asking on my darling brother, he was send home yesterday evening, as they felt he would settle better in his own bed, because he is also has severe autism, he does not take well to changes.
They seem to think the levels in his blood were low, sugar/salt, and with him being a diabetic as well possibly brought on the fits, so the care staff at where he lives will be monitoring him closely at home, with the appropriate meds as well.;) XxxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I have been fighting with Blemain Finance and Ocean Finance over my PPI, Blemain as i had expected are denying any wrong doing and are blaming Ocean for giving me the wrong informaion. This has been going on for over 2 years first with Heenans solicitors who were offered by Ocean a £2900 settlement in 2009, which Heenans told me not to take as it doesnt inclued any intrest repayment, this was then passed on to James and Beckett who didnt to anything and then on to Black Lion Law, who looked into it and last May 2010 wrote to me stating that my claim was worth over 12 thousand this took into account interest ill will be paying on the life of this 30 year loan. For the past year Black Lion Law have been working on this and now last month told me that Heenans had given me the wrong information and i should have taken the Ocean offer as my clain is only worth £1500.BUT because my no win no fee only covers me if it goes to court Black Lion Law have charged me £2300 so out of my claim and 2 years of this i was only going to get £600. i complained to them that they have given me the wrong information over the last year, they have offered me 'good will' of dropping their fees by £800 so im going to get £1400. So just to advise people to take on the company yourself first before to get a solicitor.0
