Help, Help, Help,!!!!! Please I have sent 3 letters to Santander UK, and I am due replies by tomorrow and the 1st Aug. 2 of the letter asking for a fully comprehensive list of all of the default charges that I have had on 2 cards 1 a time retail card which I got when I purchased a kitchen from B&Q, and the other a Old Alliance and Leicester credit card, the the other letter was a consumer questionnaire along with a covering letter for payment protection added to the card and for the love of god I don't remember aggreeing to PPI, I have also send a copy statement from 2000 with the questionaire, to prove I had PPI and the card !!! Anyway I have heard nothing not even a letter to say that it is being investigated, so I decided to give them a ring yesterday, I was on the phone for 16 mins and was put through to 8 different departments !!!!!! so annoying in the end I hung up. Has anyone got a fax number or e-mail address for Santander where I can send these copies too ??? I will e-mail the CEO if it helps I don't bank with them but he needs to know that his customer services dept sinks!!!! help please :)

    Hi all

Wondered if you could give me a little help with this one I have tried to reclaim the PPI on my Freemans account and was unable to so I have tried to reclaim the charges on the account, last year I requested a SAR and sent off a £10 cheque (which was cashed) but I didn't get any statements or anything !!! I have since paid the account off and Requested this information again and this is the reply I got. :-

I refer to your recent letter which has been passed for my attention.

I have given further consideration to the matters you raise, but I can only reiterate my conclusions as outlined in our letter dated the 10th Feb 2010,(I didn't get this )

I would point out that under Consumer Credit legislation we are justified in applying a charge wher defult of our payment terms has ocurred. The OFT considered the question of default charges in realtion to store cards It is questionable whether their findings apply to other forms of credit, Including mail order. The OFT did Not state that these charges were unlawful, but that in general terms, should not exceed £12 per charge. As above, it is questionable as to whether this funding applies to mail order.

I have interrogated our systems and note one default charge of £12 on the 2nd December 2008. As this charge does not exceed the OFT recommended £12m thershold, no refund will be payable. This is therefore my Final response on the matter.

    Yours Sincerely

    Blah, blah, blah

What do I do now ?? is this right I know that before 2008 I did have a few charges on this account the £20.00 you know that you get !!!I have had this account since 1997 do I go to the FO ???

    Please help !!

Well, I still haven't heard anything in response to my email to HSBC.

After receiving correspondence from HBOS that was helpful etc, I decided to email them again.

    I know, I can't help myself :rotfl:

    Copy of email below

I have too say that I am disapointed that I haven't even had an acknowledgement of the emails that I have sent to you.

I appreciate that they may only say 'Thank you for your email, we are sorry for the delay, but rest assured your complaint will be dealt with as soon as possible', but even that would have sufficed.

Any information regarding the actual timescales for my complaint would be greatly appreciated.

I emailed HBOS at the same time as my first email to HSBC and I received a telephone call the same day from my own dedicated complaints handler, which was followed up with a letter informing me of her direct contact details and telling me she they would keep me informed of any progress.

I appreciate that you are very busy, but that is all that I expected.

Hopefully this will shame them into responding in some way.

Hi there, do you have statements to show these charges?.

If so,then send copies of these to Freemans and tell them you do not agree with their findings relating to these charges and ask them to take another look at this.

Do you have the refusal for ppi that you tried to claim back?.
You may have to go for the insurer in this one due to the date,if the insurer says no,then FOS will look at this.

Do you have proof of the £10 you sent?.
If you do then send a copy of this to freemans and request that if they do not send the info you requested, you will put a complaint into FOS.

    Hiya

They should be able to get hold of the details of defaults without asking you, maybe a stalling tactic.

    Some contact details here...

    complaints@santander.co.uk

Tell them you will contact the FSA as your not receiving any feedback, and not happy with the way you are being treated if you have to, just to get them moving it along, good luck.
