Evening. I've not posted on here before but I have been reading with interest how things are progressing. I finally decided to take the plunge and submitted 3 PPI claims to Barclays last week. Less than a week later I had an acknowledgement letter back which included the line "thank you for taking the time to write to us about this". It could be October before I get any decision though.

There is quite a backlog, but hang on in there..and should you have any questions, there is some fab support for you in this forum!:)

Thanks, yes I should have said it was only after reading a lot of the posts on here that I realised that I have what looks to be a watertight case. Pre existing medical condition, good sick pay scheme from work, told it would improve my chances of getting the loans approved etc. I can't believe they got away with it for so long and I can't believe I fell for it. I'm pretty fuming so I'm ready for a battle if necessary. Daylight robbers!

We all fell for it...we trusted the banks..those fine institutions guarding our finances..they should be wearing masks , robbers that they are!.

You seem to have a good reason for mis selling...a pre exisiting medical condition is key, as is a robust sick leave scheme from your employer...good luck, fingers crossed... keep us all up to date :)

And they're still at it too, my MIL just been to HBOS for a new loan and they talked her in to taking out a life insurance to cover it for a cost of £17 a month, to cover a 9k loan, they didn't even factor in any interest on the loan either, so I've told her to go in to the bank and cancel it immediately, and if they refuse to cancel it I will be straight on to fsa, she's 64!!!!!!! All her incoming is fixed and guaranteed and she already has other life policies that cover her for the amount of the loan and for a longer term than they were offering, I really want to swear when I describe the robbing so and so's.

Hi Smitchy...it seems like sharp practice...for a lady who , because of her age might be easily swayed to sign up...all of the posts on this forum paint a real picture of malpractice...not to mention thieving robbing so and sos!!!:mad:

Lucky she has you to look out for her interests..what about those who don't??
