What a good idea - and very keen to add this to my letter back to the FLA - but this happened in 1998, before I quote this, does this still apply?

Mis-selling is mis-selling. And probably illegal if sold by a person who is not licenced to do so

    Just keep claiming

letter recieved from yorkshire bank this morning saying they have recieved my complaint and they will keep me updated with the progress as soon as they can but certainly during the next four weeks!
that seems a bit quick for a response, it is an old loan (1996) and i have no paperwork or agreement for the loan. Has anyone else had a letter from yorkshire or clydesdale bank with this time frame on?:o
Yeah they are fairly quick in acknowledging your complaint but come the 8 weeks they will probably ask for more time, or give you the chance to go back to FOS, we gave them a couple of extra weeks the last time we tried to claim and the rejection came within that time limit, so about 10 weeks. Now in with a new complaint, new reasons which weren't discussed before and there will be little time given to them, although I'd rather give them a few weeks longer and save going to FOS for 18 months.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Yorkshire Bank are as bad as the rest of them. They will come back with a "fob off" as all these banks licenced by the FSA do

Me thinks it is about time we all query the validity of their licences with the FSA, The Financial Services Authority are there to ensure Banks and some of the back street bods like Capital One behave themselves, we all know they are not behaving themselves.

Contact your local MP, after all you voted him/her in power and to that end, they have a responsibility to you.
DEMAND AN ANSWER particulary regarding the High Court Case where the banks lost
If your local MP is on the ball, (many are not) he will do something for you. If he/she does not, then tick another box in the next vote

Please can I get an expert opinion:

I have a PPI claim for a loan with LTSB outstanding. 1st letter sent in February and now I'm getting their standard 'we haven't been able to process, but will get back to you asap, or by 31 august' etc etc.

I was wondering, should I wait til end Aug, or should I escalate to the Ombudsman now? I have a PPI claim against Virgin (Used Belmont Thornton _BIGGGGGG mistake!!!) and that went to the Ombudsman in December and is still outstanding, so I dont want to rush and get in an even bigger backlog that the one currently at LTSB

    Any suggestions?

6 Months is far too long, thought Lloyds were going behave themselves or have they "fobbed off" Martin and the FSA/FOS
Seems Lloyds fabricate what they will do, soon we will label Lloyds with the other 2 ... RBS and Capital One --- THIEVES :mad::mad:
Contact the CEO of Lloyds and head your letter COMPLAINT

Regarding Belmont Thornton, they are just another one that jumped on the band wagon regarding reclaiming. They can do no more than you

What I would do with Belmont Thornton is write to them saying " You now consider they offered a service that clearly was not attainable and therefore, you withdraw your claim from their services forthwith

If they have not actually done what they said, you owe them nothing.
If, they get funny, these bods tend to, tell them you are reporting them to the FSA.

All you have to do then is continue under your own steam.

When you say VIRGIN, was this the MNBA, who are another bunch of crooks

Go over to the mse news centre theres an article on there re feedback for the new fca and of course it's your chance to have a say, heres one email i sent i wouid all post on your stories quickly before the page disappears,it's also our chance to have a say on non advised sales and of course capital one and rbs.

Hi i see you've given consumers a say in what we think of the new fca and indeed yourselves,my problem is posting on the mse forum on ppi reclaiming i and a lot of the people posting on the site are finding that although the fsa and the fos won your hard fought ruling over ps10/12 the banks despite losing the financial review still are not investigating complaints properly, Indeed i have put in a reclaim myself for misold ppi when i took out a credit card with LTSB and i cannot get the bank to even admit that i had ppi when i know full well i did I am now having to sar the bank this is not right, this must stop, the new fca must intervene when policy is not being adhered to, we as consumers are having to pay £10.00 to access information that that should be currently free, i find a lot of posters on mse are being given conflicting information this is not right banks must not be allowed to dictate policy to the fsa or the new fca as that is why the regulator is there. If you want to discuss this furher i am cappo on the ppi reclaiming forum and my email address is
:eek:Hi cappo, take your email address off :eek::eek: Ask people to pm you. Dont post this on an open forum.

Mine was very quick for a loan taken out in 98 but that was 18 months ago, they may be quick as they have not had many complaints?.
See when you get the next letter.
