Does anyone know if any of the companies would phone you after 1st letter is received by them. I sent hubby's letters to HFC bank, Royal Bank Scotland and Bank Scotland and were delivered today. Had a phone call while hubby was out and person would not tell me who was calling and a business matter and would not tell me who he was. Just found it a bit strange as nobody ever phones for him as I deal with everything now and calls are always for me. It is just we don't want to deal on phone as DH not very good on that front and is a total pushover and at the end of the conversation he would probably agree to pay them extra money rather than reclaim what they owe him.

    Hi there hun

Did they leave a tel number on 1471?
I expect you already checked this......but it may have been them trying to get to speak to him, if it is them and they ring again, tell your hubby to tell them he wants everything in writing, just in case they try fobbing him off, he can always tell them your acting on his behalf.;)

    Hi hun
Arh right, a bit of a pain then them not leaving a number, but never mind.;)
If your husband wants you to deal with this on his behalf then that is fine, and yes let them know in writing, but make sure your hubby signs the letter as well.;) X

    Hi Hamish

Just to put another side to your story. I claimed back miss sold PPI on a A and L credit card last year. About a week after the first letter went in I had a sales call from A and L asking me if i wanted to open a business bank account with them. They would only have got that info from my complaint letter. Cheeky devils.
    Good luck with your claim:D

I have had a goodwill offer from rbs for ppi on a card i took out in 1998, they only processed my application for the account if i took out ppi. they have made a goodwill offer of 6 years premiums, some £2200 they say, no mention of interest. they base this on the fact they cant find my account information from when the account was opened. my concern is that i belive the figure should be around £8000 as i have had a balance on the card for at least 8 years and was paying around £70plus per month in premiums. what should i do now? any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi there
Ask them to send you a full breakdown of this for as soon as possible, when you receive these through the post, you can if you want to post them on here, where someone will be happy to check these over for you.
Turbo tends to check over the calculations on this thread, I know he has quite a few to get through right now, but I'm sure he will check them over for you.

How long have the company given you to agree or not?

    Cheers.;)

  • Has anyone managed to get PPI back from Norton Finance?
  • Hey guys and gals. I'm gonna be editing the template letter to try and reclaim the PPI A&L told me was compulsory for the loan i took in Oct 07. The amount I borrowed was £5550.14 (12.94% apr) with interest on that @ £1108.42 over 3 years. The PPI they [mis]sold me was put on top of the principal loan, £1054.75 to be precise, and they charged interest @ £210.65 on that.

I currently pay them £220.11 per month, but £35.15 of that is for the PPI. If they decide to repay me, is it likely they will adjust my monthly repayments accordingly?

Thanks in advance for any advice, it is greatfully received :)

If they agree you have been mis sold they should return all the money you have paid towards the PPI and take the remaining PPI off your loan.
If they keep the loan length the same then yes your monthly payments will be reduced.
