Hi there
I expect there have been others here that have had dealings with this company, although it may also be worth checking on the success thread as well to see is anyone have been successful with them.
When did you take this finance out? (year) and have you still got the agreement/paperwork?;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

HELP!!
In Nov 2007 my boyfriend took out a loan with barclays for 14k he was misold ppi and in march 2008 asked for them to remove it they issued a new loan to repay off the first however they didn't repay off the first and his monthly payments went up to £900 a month for the two loans. He royally screwed up as left the second loan amount in his bank and has now spent it all and cannot keep up with the two. We asked barclays to at least remove the ppi from the first loan but they are refusing - what shall we do?0 -

Hi there
Sorry to hear this.
I would complain and reclaim on this.
Also check the link out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Check out all the reasons that may occur to your boyfriend, there is a letter template on the link as well, they have 8 weeks to respond.
However the first letter he may receive back will possibly be a standard fob off template letter of their's that many recieve, stating that he must have been aware he had signed for PPI and so on but do not let that put you off, you will need to write again if that is the case to ask them to reconsider or you will take this matter to the finanical ombudsman service for them to investigate.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full, post by recorded delivery.
You could actually ask the FOS to do this on your behalf if you wanted to, its still the 8 weeks as above where you should receive a response.
Now in regards to cancelling, I believe they should not stop anyone from cancelling, but if your boyfriend still has the terms and conditions for this, it may well be worth checking them out.
You could now ring the FOS to see if they can help on your behalf, explain about you believe this was mis sold and they will not allow your boyfriend to cancel the cover that (may) be worthless to him.
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
If you are doing this on behalf of your boyfriend let the FOS know as well, see what they say about this matter.
Please let us know how you get on and if you need further help, please just yell.
Good luck.;)

Turboman will need:
Loan amount
ppi amount
length of loan
is it a settled or unsettled loan
monthly amount payable
interest rate
apr
Loan start date
I think thats about it!:D
I Pm'ed Turboman about this but I've just wondered if the rate changes have an impact on the calculation? Worst Plus increased the rate so many times since I took the loan out and the rate has not decreased the same number of times. So do I need the original rate or the current one or something else entirely? I'm so confused...........0 -
Just let him know any rates that you know and he will let you know if he needs anything else.DS1 12/10/04

Hi all
I am a newbie to this wonderful discussion forum. :j
Yesterday I heard about the PPI reclaim thing and now I have a few silly questions which i'd be grateful if anyone could answer, before I go ahead with my claim:
1. My loan started in September 2003 (via Lloyds TSB), and was told that I couldnt take out the loan without having the PPI - am I able to claim? (bearing in mind it's an old loan)
2. Which address do I use to write to Lloyds? Would it be a branch address, head office address? or other?
I have no idea where to begin!
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi all,
Really confised here, hope someone can help me out.
Complained to First Plus Oct 2007 and was told no, then sent off to FSO to claim.
A year later, we finally got a result.
First Plus have agreed to pay up!!!
Heres the confusion:
We have paid 29 months of payments so far, original paperwork states PPI is £198 per month.
Have been told by the ombudsman that First Plus need to cancel our loan and restart it at the new rate (i.e not including PPI).
How does this work as First Plus are not offering new loans.
Will (in theory) my payments then be at least £198 lower per month now they have agreed to cancel policy.
Thanks0 -

Hi hun,
I hear some do actually hand their letters in to their local branch and they send this for you, but if you do this ask for some form of receipt, however, I have this address here:
Lloyds PPI
Customer Care
Lloyds TSB Insurance
Tredegar Park
Newport
South Wales
NP10 8SB
Tel 0845 3005599
Fax 01633 468835
You can double check to see if this is the correct address by contacting them, I'm sure they will confirm this to you.
Meanwhile check this link out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find some useful PPI info and a letter template, if any of the reasons apply to you add them along with any reason you have, but try to use your own words if you can.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Another letter maybe required, but if you let us know the outcome we can help you every step of the way, good luck and post by recorded delivery.;)
