Hi,
Does anyone know the email address of Black Horse? I know it is part of Lloyds TSB so don't know whether to email Lloyds or have Black Horse got their own email address?? I've got 2 claims with them but they put them on hold pending the Judicial Review. Just want to chase them up now judgement has been handed down!
Thanks in advance0 -
Just wondering if anyone has had the same issue as me with reclaiming PPI on an MBNA credit card.
I claimed for mis-sold PPI on an MBNA a while ago and MBNA admitted to mis-selling the PPI and refunded me for the permiums paid but only added a nominal 8% interest on the premiums refunded, which I disagreed with, as they hadn't refunded me interest on these premiums at up to 25% that I had paid. After lots of calls to MBNA and requests for information from them, which were never received, I finally complained to the ombudsman.
When this was finally looked at by an adjudicator, he came back to me to say that MBNA had argued that as they had used my payments each month to repay the PPI premium first, I hadn't paid interest on the premium payments and therefore was not entitled to receive interest back on the amounts refunded to me on admission of mis-selling.
I then explained to the adjudicator, that I had actually paid interest on these premiums, as if the PPI hadn't been applied to my account, the whole amount of my monthly payments would have been offset against my outstanding balance. The fact that they had used part of my payment to clear the missold PPI premium, meant that I had incorrectly paid interest on that amount of my outstanding balance each month and was, therefore, entitled to receive a refund of this amount.
Having explained this to him, I thought it was quite straightforward and that he understood the concept. However, when I received his decision, he had agreed with MBNA. To say I was a bit concerned that the people at the ombudsman don't seem to understand the issues fully, would be an understatement.
Anyway, I have now referred this to an actual ombudsman, as I obviously don't agree with the decision of the adjudicator. It has been with them now for over a year, so I am still waiting for a final decision. I believe it has also been delayed awaiting the recent decision on PPI.
I was more just wondering if anyone had had this issue with MBNA and what the outcome was. This is the only credit card company which has not refunded the PPI premiums and interest fully.

Hiya
And your welcome.
Sorry you were unable to find the details, if I find them in the meantime I will post up as soon as possible, but yes otherwise you can write or ring them its up to you, but to have something in black and white is better I think.
An example below on what to write, tweak or add further info if you want to.
Dear Sir/Madam

I currently have two ongoing Payment Protection Insurance complaints with Black Horse which have been kept on hold until a decision have been made on the Judicial Review. I understand the Judgement of the Judicial Review had taken place on Wednesday 20 April 2011. I am aware the BBA failed, and expect you may now be in the position to deal with complaints that have been on hold due to the Judicial Review.
Please could you write to confirm on where my complaints stand since the outcome of last week's Judgement.
Will you now be able to continue with the complaints process, or are you continuing to keep these on hold - until a decision have been made on a possible appeal?
I hope to hear from you within 5-7 days of my letter.
(you could give details of your email, and ask they email you as another option), this method will be far quicker and free to them).
Yours sincerely
Hope the above is of some help, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
