  • Hi, sorry am new to money saving expert so I hope I have posted in the right place!
I sent a letter to Welcome Finance regarding PPI that was mis-sold to me with a loan I took out. The letter was sent 3 weeks ago by recorded post, they have recieved it but I havent heard anyhting back. Should I chase them?

Also I wondered what the success rate was against welcome as they have be difficult to deal with in the past

    Thanks

take your complaint to the Claims Regulation Unit (ministy of justice) https://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/contact.aspxyou should only have been charged on what they get back for you and NOT what you've not yet paid for.

If you find you have signed terms of agreement which say this then if they start a claim in the County Court I'd use as a defence that't it's an Unfair Contract Term under the Unfair Consumer Contract Terms Regulations 1999, but get advice from the claims regulation unit

Im a cmc! Thats not right at all! tell them to take a hike! its these cowboys and ripp off merchants that spoil it for the likes of me!
Im disgusted with that.. phone 01283 233309 complain the Claims Regulation Unit
  • Hi everyone,

Need your help! I sent the first letter requesting the policy terms and conditions. I have had a letter back saying that because the loan has ended they have no obligation to provide any info, but I can send a cheque for 10 to the data protection manager. Is this my next move?

    Hi there and welcome

They have 8 weeks to give a decision, although some will send letters to confirm they have received your reclaim etc, but there is no harm in contacting them at any time for an update.

    Good luck on your reclaiming.;)

    Hi and welcome

If the account is no longer active, then that is actually correct, however some will still hold these and will send them but do not always hold on to these, but with a SAR request they must comply by the Data Protection Act (DPA) and supply what they still hold going back the last 6 years.

More on SAR below, but please be aware, as long as you still have your account number and your reasons to make a reclaim on the PPI, you can continue to make a reclaim on this.
