PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi, this is my first post on MoneySavingExpert. I'm hoping someone can help me find the answers to a couple of questions I have regarding my Mums Credit Cards.
Her Credit Cards have got way out of hand so I have cut them up and taken on the task of paying them back. Being a bit of a hoarder, she has all the statements dating back to September 2002. I have entered all the transactions, interest, charges and PPI into a spreadsheet to make it clear.
There was PPI charged to all 3 Credit Cards - Goldfish (now Barclaycard Goldfish), Virgin MBNA and Capital One...
Goldfish - £673.58 between September 02 and December 04
Virgin - £345.68 between January 04 and November 04
Capital One - £184.56 between March 04 and September 04
What are my chances of claiming this back as the Insurance was cancelled just over 6 years ago?
The card accounts are still running as there is still quite alot outstanding and charging ridiculous interest!
What would be my first steps if this is a possibility?
Many thanks,
Turks.
Hi Turks and welcome
I would certainly give it a go with the reasons your mum has for being mis sold the PPI.
And what you do is complete the reclaiming questionnaire for each separate account and send to whoever set the accounts up (head office or complaints), remember to keep copies in case these need to be refered to later on.
They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision.
The reclaiming questionnaire replaced the template letter on this site.
You will here on the link, good luck and keep at them.

I have recently received settlement for reclaiming a ppi. However i am not happy with the invoice from the company who claimed it on my behalf. (I-smart consumer services).
The loan is a 15 year loan, with 12 years left. I-smart have charged us 25% of the refunded ppi that we have paid over the last 3 years. We are happy with that. I though that was it. Job done.
I-smart also want 25% of the rest of the value of the ppi over the next 12 years! (as we benefit from not paying it)!
This means our refunded ppi claim amount equals their invoice.
What a waste of time and money!!
I have paid them the 25% of our settlement and asked them to prove to me where and when I agreed to pay the rest. I received no terms and conditions. Our claim was a result of them phoning us.
Please can anyone help me out? I am sure I have a reason to complain about this.0 -

take your complaint to the Claims Regulation Unit (ministy of justice) https://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/contact.aspxyou should only have been charged on what they get back for you and NOT what you've not yet paid for.
If you find you have signed terms of agreement which say this then if they start a claim in the County Court I'd use as a defence that't it's an Unfair Contract Term under the Unfair Consumer Contract Terms Regulations 1999, but get advice from the claims regulation unit0 -

Hi all
I took out a loan with Direct line a few years ago for only 2 months. I recently got my old paper work from them and realised I paid a PPI premium of over £1K! I have writted to them now saying misold blah blah but also that I was never refunded any of the premiums considering I only had the loan for 2 months!....What do you think are the chances of getting this back plus interest?

if you paid for all the PPI or got a very small refund they will probably refer you to a clause in the the PPI policy which states if you cancel after 30 days you'll get no or limited refund. If so, I'd claim it's an unfair contract term under the Unfair Consumer Contract Terms regulations 1999, the FSA have also stated in November 2005, that they believe low or no refund PPI contract terms to be UnfairHi all
