I have just spoken to the bank and got the most unhelpful advisors on the planet!!!
Refused to discuss my claim then made a rather large 'faux pas' which I wont go into.
Anyway, i was trying to establish whether the figure i have been given classes as settlement as it was verbal
and have not received this in writing. Was told rather firmly YOUR CLAIM IS ON HOLD.
I have logged complaints with the FSA and FOS.

  • Hi

I have recently had success claiming back my credit card charges from barclaycard & I am now looking in to claiming back for PPI.

I was just wondering how far back can you claim on PPI as I cancelled the PPI payments a few years ago but I know I was paying PPI insurance from propbably 2004 until 2008

Also has anyone had any success in claiming against dorothy perkins (was GE Capital now Santadar)? & if so do you know what address I would need to write to

    Many Thanks

    Laura

    Hi Laura

Some have been successful in reclaiming from 90's reclaims, with your reasons give it a go anyway.

There have also been many reclaims against GE Cap and DP, sometimes successful others may not be, but you have to keep at them.

Follow the link below to the reclaiming questionnaire, complete and send to whoever was responsible for setting up your policy, keep copies in case you need to refer to them at some point, and they have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time.
    Good luck.

Also well done on your other success:beer:

    Hi Mollymoo96

I believe they must still continue with ongoing cases but frozen brand new complaints.

LOL, your right there, this have been mentioned too about getting together.;)

I had no success with them directly so eventually sent off to the FOS wh helpfully provided me with the name of the person I should write to which was

    Mr Keane
    Fiancial Insurance Company Ltd
    Building 11
    Chiswick Park
    Chiswick High Road
    London
    W4 5XR

I think it depends how long you have held the account as to whether this is the right person, mine goes back for the one card, BHs 2000, the Rackhams/House of Fraser to 1990! Both were under GE.
The FOS also said they had alerted this person to my complaint and if I didnt get anywhere I could then resubmit my complaint direct to them.
I am just about to send offf my complaint and letters to him.

Good luck, I am finding Santander absolute swines to deal with.

Hi again, I hope everyone is well and having some success...

I got a letter today (about two weeks on from finding out from the Halifax that my claim was upheld) telling me I will get refunded the premiums plus the interest paid on the premiums (totalling 924.22) but no compensatory interest as I did not have a credit balance on my Visa card. They say this is in line with Ombudsman advice and that a cheque is following.

This is certainly nine hundred quid I would not have seen again had I not seen this website so I'm very happy - but it is by my reckoning about half what I actually paid in PPI over the nine years of the policy. Is this standard? Has anyone else had similar? It seems a little odd to me, and why should having not owed money on the credit card make a difference to being awarded a compensatory payment?

I have heard nothing as yet from Santander regarding the storecard. It's been six weeks since I sent the claim form in and while they were quick in providing what little information their computers still hold on me they seem to have gone strangely silent now.

I just had a successful claim (waiting for cheque and trying to work out if the amount offered is correct) on a Halifax PPI sale made just over 12 years ago, if that helps.

    Hiya

First of all well done to you!

I may be wrong, but I assume they have just refunded going back the last 6 years perhaps?
If this is the case, maybe they didn't hold any further data going back prior to 6 years, but if you still have the details, maybe you could send them copies???

Its only a guesss here, I could be mistaken, but they should be able to confirm this to you.;)

  • I got a call yesterday from Loan and finance Taylors, from a lady who assures me I am owed a total of £20,000 from missold PPIs on a mortgage I took out in 1995, and a top up loan in the next year, with Abbey National. Seems they are FSA regulated and all, but I then discovered she wants £299 upfront to cover legal fees. Anyone else had this - is it a scam? She says my details are on a government database of people who have been missold PPIs. Sounds too good to be true - so it probably is...
