Do you remember when I posted up last week about the FOS looking into my hubby's credit card ppi calculations?
Well he was actually paid out in March this year and we sent the amounts/paperwork of the refund to the FOS who stated that they wanted to relook into this, well yesterday my hubby chased them up cos just to ask for any updates and here is the email he received from them this morning....Dear Mr ,
We have not received the information as of yet from Lloyds TSB however they have agreed to re-calculate your offer based on guidance from this service. We hope to have a response within the next 2 weeks.
yours sincerely

High- Re-claim PPI from Halifax One £561 cheque to me :jand £231 off my balance it only took 3 weeks from 1st letter.
Low- Shop Direct Finance Company Ltd Littlewoods Cat-Sent 1st letter to re-claim PPI -had letter back 2 weeks later to complete consumer questionnaire, then 2 weeks after they sent not on your nelly letter and stated things like onus was on me to ask if it was optional and to tell them I was already covered through my employer. I also stated that I thought I was sold the cover (which also covered accidental damage and theft which I have on my contents cover) on a cold call from Littlewoods and that the sales person was very pushy.
Their last comment was that the FOS can't help with some types of dispute, is this worth me going to the FOS:( Any advice?0 -

Hi there
Firstly well done on your success, that is great!
I would still contact the FOS anyway, even though they won't be able to investigate against the CAT, but they may suggest the underwriter/insurer direction instead as they have to many.
As these would have been regulated and its another way to try to get back your money.
Give them a call and see what they suggest, and please let us know what they say, thanks again.;)

Evening all,
Just had a company called Pavillion ring me offering a "no win-no fee" for my two claims against Natwest (RBS). Asked where he would make his money or if he was a "saint"? He's not a Saint! The Guy was very persistent and that he could handle my case from here on. Basically told him to jog on. But wondering if any other claimants had been rung be these chancers?
Also, as a Liverpool fan will RBS getting their money from sale of a club give me a better chance of getting my money back from PPI? Probably not.0 -
It didn't take them that long to reply once I'd written to MBNA, though they gave me a date that they would reply by and went past it, saying that it was taking longer than expected to do their investigations, but they gave another date and I got the information by then.
I did get a refund, remember, which was offered virtually straight away. It came before the breakdown of charges that I had requested. To be fair, the breakdown did match what they had offered to refund, but, as you know, I had asked for a cheque and only got the balance taken off my credit card balance.
This has reduced my monthly payments, of course, but I have now forwarded the letters and breakdown to the FOS because I do believe the payments I made (which included PPI) should have reduced my outstanding balance by even more, had I not had to pay some of the payments towards PPI. That is not putting me in the position I would have been in if I had not had the PPI - it can't be! They've literally just refunded PPI and not taken into account how much my balance would have been reduced by if all of my monthly payments had gone towards paying off the loan itself.
That's why I suggested you bear that in mind when you write to MBNA.
Rockbird thanks again. I did mention in the letter about my balance would be reduced if it had not been for the PPI. Just a waiting game now. I'll need to set a reminder for myself so I can chase them up if need be. I'll keep yous posted and fingers crossed0 -
Meant to ask. Can I cancel my PPI the now or do I need to wait for an answer? Thanks0

Hi there
You can cancel at anytime, but some wait for it to be resolved from reclaiming, where then they have to put a stop to the ppi then anyway.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Guys,
This is probably a pretty simple question to answer but I don't know?!
I'm just about to start to reclaim PPI for my husbands loan he took out a few years ago (he is away a lot so I'm doing the leg work) but I'm not sure if we will be able to reclaim or how, you see he took the loan out with abbeyloan and now Santander have taken them over I don't know if we can?
Does anyone know?
Thanks0
