    Hi hun

    Good luck with this.

The information can be handy if required for complaints such as reclaiming etc.

However I note you said they can only supply you with an update?
In regards to the previous finance, was that more than 6 years ago by any chance?
If not they should be able to send you a copy of that one as well.

They generally charge £1 cheque or postal order payment for the agreement and it should take no longer than 12 days to arrive.

    Hope this helps.;)

Hiya, yes, I signed up for the Natwest card in 1999. The other card is a barclaycard. I spoke to them this morning and they said that I should write a letter to claim, they cancelled the payment protection on my card and refunded last months payment which was nice but I will have to write in to get teh rest back, which is fair enough!

Sorry-been distracted trying to understand calculations settlements under new regs-rather than Rule of 78 (old regs) --Getting behind with Sums--back here tonight-I haven't forgotten anybody--got a list-lol
    aka Calculator

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell she is.

  • Can someone confirm something for me please? I'm trying to claim back ppi (obviously :o ) but have no paperwork for one particular company.

Had 2 loans, it finally ended in 2004 after a top up, I have bank statements proving direct debit payments from 2001/2002 etc so would a SAR show the details of these loans from 2001 and 2002 finally ending in 2004 or shall I end this particular fight now?

The company has told me that without account numbers they cannot take my complaint further obviously they must know I have not got the account numbers as I have not mentioned them before on my template letter so I think they just being harsey  surely it would show on my records as having a loan?.

I know it might be a stab in the dark but obviously we were not aware of mis-selling back then and it's too long for me to have kept details of the loans but as I say I do have proof of payments.

Out of the blue question but would sending a SAR to OH bank help would that come up with loan agreement numbers at all from direct debit payments?

thanks I hope that makes sense and I haven't waffled :D

    Hi Toffee Penny

Your SAR should supply data they have on you for the last 6 years, some may be lucky to receive data going back even further than that, but cannot guarantee this, but the last 6 years you should have no problem with.;)

Do you still have the agreements?

If its just them you require at this point, you could request for a copy which should take just 12 days as from request, for an enclosed amount of £1 cheque or postal order payment.

lol no your not waffling on.....I thought that was me lmao........:D

The SAR to the bank seems like a good idea, but have the company involved got no documents at all in relation to these loans. You may need to be specific with the bank and ask for a list of people you paid out direct debits to or you will just get 6 years worth of statements.
    DS1 12/10/04
    DS2 13/07/06
    DD1 06/12/07
  • Thanks Di!

    well 2009 minus 2004 = 5 years :D

so if a SAR covers 6 at least it should show up the loan that ended in 2004 and if I get that information then it will hopefully show it was a top up from a previous loan. (fingers crossed)

Sadly I do not have any paperwork regarding these 2 loans, it was only from being on here and chatting to you guys that one night we racked our brains going over every creditor we have ever dealt with. This particular company popped up and we sent the template letter off anyway once we were sure of the dates (from OH old bank statement)

I have just read Martin's guide on claiming and it probably is a long shot but it's worth a try especially if it all ended 5 years ago. I am still in the time frame for SAR information.

Have to get ready now, I was having a lazy day too being half term, never mind get to see my favourite Post Office person once more. I'm sure the guy thinks I fancy him making excuses for £1 postal orders and £10 postal orders and sending letters special delivery every few days just to see him:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Pinknico they contacted me by email today and wanted me to provide account numbers otherwise they could not investigate my complaint further.

By the way it is with a catalogue company, I opened the account 1996/97 time. Time for CCA request too? :D I get the feeling they might be being awkward as surely the loan info would show up on my account history?

  • Just phoned my bank and asked what information they would have regarding a person's direct debits and loan agreements history, I was told that under the account history they could provide details of this but sometimes the loan would show as a reference number not necessarily the agreement number.

How many years does a company have to keep income and expenditure records for audit purposes? Is it 7 years? 2009 - 2002 = :D So the company should have record of me somewhere
