    Hi Di,

Thanks for all of this - been a real help....

Do you have or know anyone who may have a template of the letter I should write, you know something that's diplomatic but serious enough that i could use with the questionnaire etc

    Cheers

    Steve

    Its my pleasure Steve

With template letters it is known the success rate is not so high as writing your own in your own words, but there is no harm in using one as a guide.

The FOS Questionnaire should be enough though unless of course you have more information to add where the form does not give you the opportunity to have your say.

If you wanted to send a letter though that is of course up to you.
I do have a template that I added to the site sometime ago, check it out and if you want to use it, use it as a guide and not to miss out the parts mentioning they have 8 weeks and the part of the Financial ombudsman service.
    Hope it helps though.;)

    they are robbers
Tell me about it ! at least i won mis sell. along with 100s of other fp customers, that has reduced my loan by 22000 and saved me nearly 60000 in interest over the remaining term of the loan.

I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free
  • Hi
I am currently trying to reclaim PPI on 3 loans I took out with HFC bank in 2006/7. The loans totaled £65,000 pounds and I engaged a company called AIMS to handle my Claim.
I have read a lot of threads about other claims with HFC and found out that I had ahd the same experiences as other claimants with regard to been mis sold PPI. We had a lot of similar experiences to other claimants when we took the loans out. We were told on each occasion that the loan would not be approved unless we took out the PPI at the time and were never given the option of shopping around for PPI from other sources. We were only given one quote for the loans which included the PPI etc.
We had a letter today from AIMS saying that HFC had refused to refund our PPI because in their oppinion it was never mis sold and that their decision is final. AIMS have sent us a letter for us to sign so the case can go to the ombusman but didn't sound very hopeful of success so is this the end of my claim?

    Hi all,
I'm hoping to benefit from the knowledge of you good people again.
I've had my first letter back regarding my PPIc claims. It's from Firstplus.

A bit of googling this morning has shown me that this seems to be a fairly standard letter. I''ve seen a couple on the interweb which are pretty much word-for-word.

My question is- what should I do now? I'm worried that I've no chance against them.
I'm planning on sending the second letter suggested on here. Is there anything else I should say or ask for? I don't yet have copies of any of the telephone calls they refer to in the letter...
    Thanks,
    Clare
Hi there, write back telling them that you are not satisfied with the reply and you were mis sold this ppi because
    1) you were not told this ppi only lasted 5 years
    2) that the ppi was put on at the front of the loan and you would pay it back with interest over the remaining term
3)you would still be paying in effect for a product you no longer had

tell them that you will be taking this to fos if they continue to say this product was not mis sold when clearly, for the reasons stated it most certainly was and the fos are upholding 99% of these front loaded ppi claims.
Also take a look at this website firstpluscomplaints.co.uk and have your eyes well and truly opened

Hi bugsy, you will need to put all loan account numbers and state that they were consolidated, they will do the workings out and you will get all ppi back on all loans less any rebate for each loan that was given back when they were consolidated. x isnt it nice to help somebody else? xx

I am waiting for them to gather all the information that I need but it looks like my sister has 3 consolidated loans, my brother in law has 2, my one niece has 2 and my other niece has one, all with Lloyds TSB and all with PPI.
They have said that they thought PPI was compulsory and were told it would also help to get the loan they requested (now doesnt that sound familiar!!!!).
I have been speaking to an ex Lloyds employee who has informed me that Lloyds use a 9 month rule for loans whereby they set them up, let them run for 9 months and then try to get them consolidated with other debts.
I still have a loan with Lloyds TSB and I have requested a settlement figure, pending my compensation, and Lloyds have told me not to stop paying my loan or they have the right to take money from my current account if the loan was taken out after May 2005. Just so happens mine was taken out in July 2004 but I have checked previous statements and they took money from my account when my DD failed in Jan 2010. I sent them a letter yesterday asking why they illegallly accessed my account and withdrew money.
I know it is not a PPI related issue but just goes to show that Lloyds TSB and Eric Daniels have one goal in life.................to make money at our expense.
My goal in life is now to take Lloyds TSB to task.

I would sign and let it go to fos, if you lose mis sell you still have to pay this company (i would assume) so make them earn their percentage.
