silly question have been reading here things like amount claimed amount offered etc....how do I know am being offered a resonable amount how do I calculate what I should be getting

    Hi there
I would write to the company and ask them to send you the full calculations.

Is your account active or settled?

If you want to when you receive them post the figures/calculations of what they send you on here and I'm quite sure they will be looked at for you.;)

    Hello,

I originally posted in a previous thread in January.

I sent the company involved a letter saying that I was refusing to complete the questionnaire as they should hold all of the relevant info. I also sent them a SAR request.

I received all of the info as per my SAR request and have just received a letter from them offering me a full refund of all the premiums paid in respect of the PPI, plus 8% interest.

Before I accept this offer I need to make sure that this is everything that I'm due back.

I paid the loan off early, so is there anyway that any PPI was included in the final payment that I made to them to pay off the loan?

From the SAR info I received the total PPI that I would have been due to pay back for the loans was 3 times as much as what I'm being offered.

Well done to you  :T .

I see Turbo has posted some calculations in the above posts, I take it they are for you.;)

  • Hi, First post here. Having began the process of PPI reclaim on a Barclayloan in Nov 08 I would like to ask for a little advice.. I recieved a couple of letters saying that my complaint was being looked into & I eventually received a letter at the begining of Feb 09 saying that basically I am covered by the PPI & have no complaint. Now. I am self employed, I was self employed when I took out the loan in 2006 & was under the impression that I am not covered by the PPI. Is this letter from Barclays just the standard rebuttall and should I just go ahead & send the second letter with a copy of my first?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Graham..

Thanks for this. Can anyone help with how I send a SARS request if I don't have a loan account number?

    Hi there
First of all you will find the SAR letter template on the thread with details, delete what does not occur to you. They have 40 days to comply on the SAR.

How long ago was it when you had taken out this credit?
If over the last 6 years you should have no problem in receiving your data they have on you.

The agreement you could request for alone this will and only should take 12 days.

Request a copy of the excuted agreeement under the section 78 of the consumer credit act 1974, there is a £1 charge for this, in postal order or cheque payment.

I would just let them know the address where you were living a the time, if your surname were different then make them aware of this and the date of birth, you may have to enclose a copy of some evidence, maybe a utility bill or something alike, I am not too certain on that, but I am sure someone may confirm this otherwise, good luck and keep us posted.;)

    Hi Graham

As a first response, its possibly a standard fob off the main of us receive, so if that is the case write back to them if they have given you the opportunity to, and tell them your not satisfied with their response and give an explanation to every reason of why you believe you were mis sold, tell them you want this looking at again or you will have no option but to take further action with this matter, such as with the Financial Ombudsman service and/or other directions you can take this complaint.

In the final response they should let you know if your eligible to take this to the financial ombudsman service (FOS) with an enclosed leaflet of the complaint procedures of this.

Also tell them your current situation here, good luck and please let u know, in case you require further help with this.;)

I sent off a £1 cheque requesting account details from FP recorded delivery, the Royal Mail shows that it was signed for on the 3rd of this month, that is over the 12 days that you mention, what should my next course of action be?

(sorry to intrude on anothers post)

Hi hun and your at the right place.;)

They should have complied by now 12 days is what they have, ring them and tell them you have not received this and if you do not receive this document you have the right to take this matter further.

I have not been in this situation myself but I am sure others have here and may let you know what they done about this, but you should have had this by now in my opinion, good luck and please let us know, cheers.;)
