    Hi

That is good news, well done.:T:beer:

Yes I have read this many times before via lloyds, some they say 21 days and others 45 but any problem, keep chasing them up on the email here:

Thanks. Fingers crossed it's sooner than later :)

    Hi again folks :)

I posted last week about progress on my claim - RBS had been in touch to ask for more information just as the 8 weeks was about to run out. I sent the information off to them on Thursday or Friday and was surprised to get their response this morning!

The letter basically pointed out that I had no case etc etc, which I was expecting; what I wasn't expecting was a 'goodwill gesture' of £750. So, do I take the safe money now OR press on with the next stage? I think i'm leaning towards the latter at the moment but wondered what you guys would make of it :)
keep going - i last visited this forum in april 2009, when my case was just going to the ombudsman against rbs and credit card ppi. today i have had confirmation from rbs that £2045 has been paid to my credit card account! this was about £1400+ in ppi charges and £500+ interest on the money. it has been a long slog and i had copies of all my credit card statements back to the beginning of the account. i am delighted that the perserverance paid off!! good luck! if i had got nothing back it would still have been worth it to annoy rbs!

Do we have to pay tax on any money we get back from the banks?

OK halphy thanks for the info. I'll have to get the info from the bank if they don't give me it then call the taxman once they have transferred the money over to me.

Evening all, just back from holiday to find a letter from mbna.Basically saying no but how they pride themseves on being fair and reviewing each case on an individual basis. Therefore as a courtesy and in an attempt to resolve our complaint to our satisfaction they will consider a refund of premiums if we can provide information that proves we i was self employed at the time the policy was activated, which could be in the form of a tax document. They have sent back ma original application where i have ticked in 1998 that i was self employed. My question is should i pursue this and will the tax office still have my accounts to prove i was self employed in 1998.I dont know what to expect with this one feel they are going to fob me of
 Jan grocery challenge £300/£210 spent so far.I can do this:T

    Hi Trish

I would do what Halphy suggested in contacting the tax office, hopefully they will still hold these details.

Just a thought as well it you received anything in tax credits back then, wonder if an annual award notice would be any good, although I cannot remember how the tax credits system worked back then.

    Good luck.;)

    Hi Di,

Still finding it hard to believe the result. Have read the letter about ten times already.
Posted the letter this morning, recorded delivery, so will wait for the confirmation letter from the FOS.
Thanks again for all your help.
Will keep you updated until the money finally arrives.;)
