    Hi there

I have just written my letter requesting a breakdown of the payments due back to me, which I will post off today. I have also requested they make any refunds to me by personal cheque, should I accept!

I have phoned A&Lto chase up the initial letter that I wrote to them to request full details of PPI as the 40 days is now just about up, to be told that it's not dealt with by them and to contact MBNA. I was given a freephone 0800 number to call and can't get past the recorded voice trying to direct me to anywhere other than where I want to go! SO FRUSTRATING!

  • glad I found this site.

    Hi all,

I was contacted last week by a company called R****** ,and the girl on the phone informed me I may be entitled to to a refund from the company I have a loan with .

I was sceptical at first and slightly suspicious tbh and said I had to go.

since then I have spoken to a few people and have read a few things online ,and feel I may ,indeed ,I may be entitled to a refund.

I got a loan for £14,000 from Northern Rock in 2006 ,and know that there is PPI on.

I was told it would be unwise of me not to take out PPI ,in case something happened.

any thoughts ,or advice would be more than welcome.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome

Its definately worthwhile giving it a go yourself with free help from this site and if successful you will get to keep all your PPI refund etc.

Now what you do is pursue your reclaim to whom set this up and sold you the policy, complete the FOS questionnaire (this is instead of writing a letter), you will find the questionnaire further down the page as Stage one on link below.
You use this to send to whom your reclaiming from.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

They have 8 weeks in full to respond with a decision, keep at them.
Hope this helps ask for further help if required, and post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.;)

    Good luck.

    Good luck.

    thanks for that .

    one concern /query I have though;

can making a claim have an adverse effect on your credit rating.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

As you may have read with my previous posts, I am currently in negotiations with loans.co.uk over a mis sold PPI my wife and I were forced to have back in 2004.
Long story short, after using the first letter on this site, and following up with a reminder, loans.co.uk confirmed I had been mis sold the PPI. It has been over a month now since they said they would get the figures, last week I was about to send a reminder letter and someone on here advised me of a phone number for them. I tried over and over to get through and yesterday got through to someone.
I have been told now they have the figures and that I should recieve my offer by the end of next week, then, if I agree to the amount I need to reply saying so and it will take 28 days to recieve the money.

Don't want to count my chickens just yet and I'll let you know when I get the letter but by my rough calcs the ppi is £5,400 plus interest so I'm looking around the £6 grand mark. I would not have done this were it not for the advice and guidance of people on this site and thread.

    So thank you.
Would like to: Retire at 54. 19yrs .Clear mortgage by 50. 16yrs. Clear Secured debts by 43. 8yrs.Clear Unsecured debt by 39. 4yrs. Gain full control of my finances by 36. 1yr.Keep my head above water. Today.
