PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Thanks, this is pretty much what we thought. Do you know if we take this to the FOS and if claim is not upheld if we can still claim back the 21K after 5 years of not claiming PPI as insurance is not being cancelled.
And if FOS are still inventigating at point of which we need to claim the 21K, can we still do this with an ongoing investigation with FOS??
Sorry for all the questions, you have all been a great help!!! We are truly grateful.
Yes you can. FOS will just deduct the refund from any compesation if your claim is successful. Usually these refunds have a time period which you have to apply for them in, plus the loan must still be in force, and you usually can't have missed any payments either.I tell ambulance chasers where to go for a living, but am willing to help genuine claimants0 -

i'm sure others have had experience with FP and will advise accordingly.

What would happen then if they are both settled about the same time?0 -
Thanks stereo_mike,
I'm being a bit dim....Did you mean yes we can claim the 21K after 5 years if claim is not upheld too? or just yes we can claim whilst FOS are investigating.
The window for the claim of the 21K is 30 days - not very much time. Has anyone had any experience of trying to claim after 5 years? Any tips??
Loan is still running and will be for a long time (unless we win the lottery) but we have not missed a single payment - fingers crossed it stays that way.
Thanks again.0 -

You can claim after the 5 years whether your claim is ongoing or unsuccessful, it just has to be done in the 30 day window you haveI tell ambulance chasers where to go for a living, but am willing to help genuine claimants0 -

i heard this was the average,
obviously more complexed cases seem to be taking longer,
i may be wrong,I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -

I will send a response to Denise Wilmot refusing the offer and requesting detailed breakdown of the payment offer and I will take it to the FOS.
Will keep you all updated with our progress.
Again thanks to all - this has been such a big help.0
