I applied for the Tesco Clubcard CC last week on the off chance as I desperately needed a new card to transfer some balances to. I'd been receiving a fair few refusals in the last few months although my payment record is perfect.

I was assuming that the various CC companies had rumbled me as a tart given that I have 11 on the go and they would also be concerned about the potential credit I could run up on a spree if I decided to.

I was genuinely surprised that they gave me an immediate on line decision and the card was with me within a few days. Only a £2400 limit but its good enough for what I wanted. :j

They certainly seem to be bucking the current trend refusing apllications as Citi, MBNA, Sainsbury, Egg & House of Fraser (trying to upgrade from Recognition Card) all knocked me back.

so if you've been declined a RBS card will this get declined? i.e. is it run by the same systems or are they independant of each other?

I have been told that Natwest have put an application block on me as I appealed an incorrect account with them and now they refuse to give me one for a year (almost up) but wonder if Tesco is in effect an RBS card or do they use a separate system?

It is serviced by: card services, southend on sea, essex?

The hubby has just got a Tesco Visa Bonus Card via Tesco website last week. Immediate decision with a 7250 limit, 14 months 0% balance transfer (2.99% fee), and 6 months interest free on purchases.

One small problem though. Just tried to do a balance transfer from my Capital One World M/C and they don't recognise it (new card issued in December following a dubious 'possible fraudulent batch of cards that need to be replaced' palava.). So stuck with having to pay off unexpected expense.

I'm having to pay for my sister's funeral and thankfully only put the deposit of 720 on my card. Thought might as well get some cashback as total cost is over 3 grand - will have to think of something else now.

Do they ask for 3 years history?

I have been in UK for 2 years only, I have a good credit history, am on the electorall roll, have a credit card that I pay on time.... I only have no history prior to 2006. Virgin just rejected me (they said the can't find evidence of me for the last 3 years and if I can send them statements from 2006 which I don't have so it's a no)

anyone with just 2 years of credit history tryied to aply for it?
