I'll have to look up this book & get a copy, I just homed a rescue three weeks ago & she hates other dogs! I'm worried if an off lead dog runs up she'll go at it before the Owners can call it off or get it! lol mine used to fart tons in rescue but now she's on a good diet she never does, she does snort & grunt & snore tons tho! She rarely barks aswell, two woofs in her sleep the other night & maybe once more?

another great book for getting into the psyche of a dog is culture clash by Jean Donaldson. the chapter on aggression is excellent and well worth a read.

as for any off lead dogs running at yours, if yours is on a lead then technically you have control of yours and the offlead dog is at fault if it is damaged by your dog. there are way too many dog owners out there who think that becuase their dog is very friendly all other dogs will appreciate getting jumped on or humped by it

I often say to people that my dog doesn't like bad manners and that if a stranger came up and groped me he would be lucky if he escaped with a slap and a mouthful of abuse and my dog's response to his/her rude dog's behaviour is the dog equivalent of a torrent of abuse and a slap. :D
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!

Thanks, i'll get a copy! I agree if some other Dog bounds up & the Owner doesn't recall it it's their fault, just a big worry of mine because of course I don't want mine or any other Dog hurt. I look out for any coming & try to avoid them, like if I go to our park my place in next to & any are there off lead i'd leave right off just in case! She begins basic obedience & socialisation with the village Dog Club on Thursday so that should be interesting! Have had her 1 month tomorrow!

lol they estimated her to be about 6yrs old tho alot think she's younger. If you go to page 2 I think here, the Cav King Charles in flat thread is mine, at the end are TONS of pics! I'm obsessed. The rescue called her Pixie but I changed it to Chaya meaning Shade. She's supposed to be a Staffie x but there's many think a full but badly bred one!

lol mine had only been on hers a few weeks as she was in rescue, i'm changing again after this bag is out (I know not to change alot but I found a food i'd rather feed).

I dread it if I lie down, I have to fight off a Dog that is determind to clean me for about an hour! I'm suprised she hasn't washed the Cat yet!
