It's t'other way round love - it's DD and her Bloke.

Now, if I could persuade DS and DiL to get their own place, I could seriously declutter and reduce my household bills big time. :rotfl:

Sorry you've had a bit of a pants (or should it be shoes) day. I know exactly how you feel about shoe shopping for your kids - except I have that problem myself - lack of suitable shoes!

Well spotted Soappie, you win a prize for spotting my deliberate mistake :rotfl:just checking to see if Gordon had taken hold of you.:D x

Gordon and I may have a good relationship but we only ever hold hands and I'm always in control ;) :rotfl:

AnW's mum - showed my OH the pics of the cheese sarnie and he said "good lad." Just the sort of sandwich he likes! I think it's great he made lunch for you all, I always make OH do all the cooking!
Soappie, we might have some stuff to pass on to your DD as we got a few things duplicated when we got married, I'm thinking loo brush (not used!) and an orange bathroom set (soap holder and toothbrush holder) - orange is not everyone's cup of tea so don't take this if it's not wanted! I hate it! Will have a root about and see what else there is. I think we have a spare bath mat (white) but not sure.
I've not done any flying :o Went out with DH and a friend this afternoon, and the plan was to go back to friends house for dinner and some other people were coming, one of whom is the most annoying person in the world  She has a really high pitched voice, giggles all the time and says really dumb things. I was feeling fragile all day, really tired, and getting more and more emotional all afternoon until eventually I had a huge emotional explosion in the car, lots of tears and sobs. It sounds stupid written down, but I've been struggling all week to keep it together and I think the thought of dinner with annoying friend was just too much to bear! So DH brought me home and made some food. Now I'm tucked up on the sofa with a blanket. I think I would have struggled today regardless of what happened, I knew as soon as I woke up that I was in for a bad day. I had a nice afternoon, just got to focus on that. Am disappointed for DH because he was looking forward to a fun evening, but he has a headache so maybe it's just as well. He's just given me a nice choc pudding he bought me as a treat!:A

    Evening ladies and oddjob :D

nice to see you popping in michelle, hope the boys are doing well.

valli - well done on the marmalade. I tried it last year and I wouldnt say it was a brilliant success but then I was trying to work between 3 recipes dont ask me why

lilme - cant believe they said Oct for the assessment? Hope you manage to get your night out

boddy - sounds like your daughter is doing well. Hope mum is too

    AnW'smum - tell W he makes a great sarnie

soappie, serena, greenbee, jjef - cant believe how much you peeps seem to achieve

Triker - I know what you mean about suitable shoes, its ridiculous. I had a rant last time DD had to have new school shoes. I complained in Clarks as all the shoes had open tops. !!!!!! it was October and I wanted winter ones what good are they. Previously I had used the little startrite factory shop in our town but it closed so I ended up taking her on an 80 miles round trip to the SR factory where they had a shop. Managed to get myself a pair at the same time as luckily I only take a child size :rotfl: 5!!!!!

Inamess - dont worry I think I'm going to have to restart on Monday too. I gave up on Wed and Thursday and then Fri had a really bad day at work and spent the evening in tears before going to bed early and have slept most of today as well. Tomorrow will be cooking and washing so at least you have the knowledge of not being the only one to have abandoned it.

To toots, kazw, rach and anyone else still around

rosepink - sounds like you did well this afternoon and at least now DH is looking after you

I really should go and do something but I have no energy and for some reason I have a sore back but it doesnt feel muscular  . All I have managed to do today is walk the doogie and get DD spaghetti hoops on toast for her tea. I suppose if I sit and update the accounts that will count as something.

Right will do that and pop back in later

RoseP - that's really thoughtful of you. Thank you! I don't think they'll need the orange bathroom set.

What I need to do, I think, is get DD to write down a list of stuff they need and then publicise that.

And RoseP - I understand the fragile days.

Kaz - I only achieved because I set my mind to it and am now feeling knackered! But, also, because I've been a flylady for over a year now, the lists don't take as long to do because you've only got a month or less grime and grot to deal with instead of several years worth... and if you're feeling pooped and out of sorts then the flying can go hang - look after yourself first the housework will always be there..

  • :D Hello ladies!

Guess how I spent my Friday night/saturday morning til around 0600?? Talking to Tristan!!

He is home from the hospital and logged on and while he is on bed rest we chatted on mics for hours. It is so wonderful to have him back. One day at a time of course, but right now he feels great he says. The Drs still want to operate to put in a tube to drain infection from his body but he is being stubborn and saying he has faith it will go on its own. Yes, I know, it isn't likely, but it wasn't likely that he would ever wake up again and he did, so maybe being a stubborn cowboy is working for him! I wish he would have the op, but he says if he has one they will try and persuade him to have others and he doesn't want to be in hospital.

Anyway, we have had a lovely time together today. I slept from about 7am onwards but wanted to come here and tell you all I had spoken to him.

thanx.gifall so much for all the continued support and good wishes, and he has especially asked me to pass on his thanks and gratitude from him and his family for all the candles and prayers and positive thought. He believes strongly that you all helped him pull through.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hugs to anyone who would like one. (rosepink, I just read your thread and wanted to send you a special hug)

  • rosepink hugs for you honey - sounds like you did very well even if you had an 'outburst' - you had got yourself a bit worked up about the curtains too so maybe things needed to come to a head - take it easy and give that lovely DH a good cuddle for looking after you so well!

kazmeister hello angel - sorry to hear you have had a bad friday at work - hope the situation isnt going to still be bad on monday - you sound like you were emoitinally drained and needed to rest today. the dust etc will still be there next week - dont worry about it! have a huge sloppy squishy hug instead!!! ((((hug))))

diva thank you for your lovely words and Tristan's thanks too - it must have been a real joy for you to speak to him - as you said - one day at a time - and he has already proved he is a fighter!

soappie a list would be a great idea as I am sure some of us have things that would be useful to her!!

I have my cousin coming tomorrow and need to get a bit more tidying done!

Not me kaz, you must be mixing me up with someone else! I've only done one list completely this week, and spent most of the week reclining on a sofa and sneezing!

eta to say hugs for kaz.

Excellent news msd, and live for the day.
