  • Carpet is a no-go in my opinion. As your doing up to sell d go for lino with a nice fluffy bathroom mat on top for warmth.

On the other hand, if it has carpet in the bathroom, the sellers might think: ooh, here's an opportunity to bring the price down, that means it needs upgrading. Then price the house 5% higher than you would otherwise and I'll bet you get exactly the same price. And, tbh, although carpet in bathrooms isn't ideal for some people, if that's what YOU like, and you get good stuff (small so not a big price difference), then that's a good thing. You could end up staying after all. Me, I'd prefer carpet, replace it from time to time (doesn't have to match the rest of the house), but I'd never fall over!!!

Just before we sold our house I decided the messy lino in the kitchen was not helping us get a sale, however I didn't want to spend a fortune replacing it.
I bought those self adhesive vinyl tiles £1.99 from Wilkinsons for a pack of 6 and it looked pretty good, cost me £14 and took a couple of hours to lay.
They come in different colours too, I intend to use them again in the bathroom of our new house as we've run out of money!!
  • it's simple; wet carpet smells :silenced: I know; I replaced my hubby's ex's choice.

I'd do vinyl everytime for bathrooms; effective for look and price; buyers will do their own thing anyway

Id go with the lino. Id also ignore the property shows as most buyers are more concerned with it being clean and presentable.
Point out the positives never the negatives and clean, clean, clean and clean.
