Only through Christ can we find freedom
  • We are also appealing the DLA decision in my husbands case. We have also recieved a letter stating that it would take 11 weeks. Cant believe it takes so long but does give us a chance to see his specialist and get him to send a letter on our behalf (he has already done the medical form they sent him).

They also tried to state that they werent awarding my husband his DLA (which he had been recieving for 5 years) becuase he was at no risk of having a fit, falling or hurting himself. As he is an 'uncontrolled' epeliptic we cant see how they were able to say this and when we phoned 2 weeks after recieving letter to let them know he had had 2 fits, in which he fell down and hurt himself, they didnt seem to care.

    Good luck with your appeal
  • maybe these people need to walk in our boots for one day before they decide if we should get DLA and what componants

  • Im sure that half the time they dont read the information we send into them. After all how can they say my hubby was at no danger of having a fit when both his GP and Specialist had stated on their medical forms that he is uncontrolled. It beggers belief really. I would love to see how they work, how they score people etc etc
  • my wife thinks they roll dice and higher the roll the better your award. lol get double 6 for both mobility and care get less than 7 and get nothing
Only through Christ can we find freedom
  • That would not surprise me at all. LOL
  • good luck with your claim, will keep posting updates of my claim on here.

  • Thanks. Good luck to you too.
  • hi, it isnt unusual, there are loads of us who get the wrong answer first time round.
i got a flat no the first time, sent them a letter asking for reconsideration and got middle rate care. i got the 11 week letter too by the way, but got an answer after 4 weeks.
i didnt have to see a doctor. my mobility is ok so i was happy with my result.
    good luck
  • Had the result through today and it's still NO. They have sent it to an independant Tribunal but by the sounds of it the dont think he is ill enough to get it. Well have to carefully read through the paperwork and make an appointment with CAB.
