Weekend - What small dfw things have you done thread....

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move money to savings
  • storecupboard lunch and tea-
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse, recycle one thing - soup for lunch made from yesterdays leftover veggies
  • sparkle -cupcake socks today
  • quick whizz through flat with stardrops and microfibre cloths
  • find some bargain fruit and veggies on market
  • use two No 7 vouchers up on pressies for stash
  • put some petrol in at cheapest garage
  • drop some stuff off at fellow dfw's - more recycling
  • remember to take reusable shopping bag
  • try and find time for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
Woo Hoo it's the weekend again:j :j , lots planned for today. Off to town with my friend this morning and hope to get some bargains at the market, use up the two no 7 vouchers I have before they expire, and generally have a mooch about.
Hope you all have a great day doing fun stuff as well as dfw stuff;) . Hugs to anyone feeling down or poorly-HShugs2.gif hope you feel better soon.

    Morning all,

    Thank god it's the weekend!!

Happy birthday to Sans for yesterday
    Congrats on the engagement Urg

    Today I have/will do:
updated my spreadsheet – although I get paid weekly I leave my wages in my account until 1st of the month and I have based my spreadsheet on these figures (I am aiming on getting a perm job once the climate is better)
I must stick to my budget – any extras get squirrelled away
I will only use cash wherever possible
    breakfast and lunch from home
walk into town – I need to open up (yet another) savings account – this one is for my clothing and mobile top up budget which I do not seem to need at the moment
get my glasses fixed – the screw fell out and I had to do a bodge job on them
this is not MS but I am getting my face waxed (aka hair ripped out at the roots). I have PCOS, and one of the bonuses is that I have unwanted hair on my neck and face – In true MS style though I have eeked out my appointment until I am too embarrassed to go out and as I am having a number of treatments it is cheaper
pop into the library and borrow books for my course later in February
    enter more comps
look at courses I can go on – I was watching something yesterday morning which said that once Britain is out of recession they are training so they can be the best candidate (I need Sage and advanced Excel skills)
post off my entry from the Welsh tourist board to win a car
put more change into my sealed pots
read the past couple of days posts on here
    do daily clicks
write meal planner for the next week (went food shopping yesterday)
try and win the lottery (fingers crossed)
see if yogurts freeze ok – I throw too many away each month
break down 2 packs of ham and 2 loaves of bread which I bought yesterday into 2 slices each and freeze for this month's sandwiches
stay in with hubby this evening and watch things that we have taped (neither of us have much money left over this month)

God my list is huge – Andan, you have a rival today

Think that is about it – take care

Thanks to Sophiesmum for starting this thread and hello to everyone who posts today

A clunk to the virtual jar (£1)
    Checked my banking
    Updated spreadsheets
Got a letter saying that our electricity price has gone down by 7.5% :)
Updated my signature (less than £3.5k and £1k, respectively on my remaining debts)
Ordered GF's birthday present super early (her Birthday is in mid October!) It was ~£80, but I got this down to more like £50 through a combination of vouchers earned on Dooyoo, Nectar points and free delivery :money:

Urg Congratulations on the engagement - your OH sounds a romantic!
