Tesco Lorry Drivers earn £47600 pa

3 m8's drove for Tesco and all left after their pay deals were cut when the depot moved. They went on strike and management came out and filmed everyone on the picket line.
2 of them now work for Hoyer (I think, subcontracted to shell gas?) and make really good money.
Train drivings the way to go. 20k training wage, 26k after 12 months rising to 32k after 2 years.
Early/late shifts on the regional services, 35 hour week, OT avaliable. Cant be bad.0 -

Exact salaries depend on the company: Virgin and Arriva XC drivers earn over 42k basic salary, which can be topped up with significant amounts of overtime if they want. Eurostar pays over 50k. Yes it's a great job, but it's next to impossible to get, especially if you don't work as a guard/station staff first. They get over 4000 applications for every 10 jobs (and that's in just two days before they give up and stop sending out applications!), and there are very few people who would pass the tests required to get in. But as I said, good work if you can get it.0 -
Scotrail always looking on their website. Once got down to the last 8 for 2 jobs with EWS only to discover it was a shunters job (drive within 2 or 3 miles of the yard only). Asked if driving on the main line was a natural progression only to be told it wasn't.
Only thing that stops me trying is my weight. Need to lose a few pounds first.0 -

You'd have thought they'd have explained what the job entailed before they got you there! Then again, there's nothing dafter than the railways... The problem with Scotrail is that they used to refuse to consider applications from south of the border (even people who were prepared to move up to Scotland if they got the job), but I suppose that may have changed by now.0 -
For nursing it also depends what level of a certain band you are on. There is an increment pay rise on your anniversary of starting in the nhs.0

a fair wage for a tube driver is about 15k - lets face it, a trained monkey could do the job. no tube staff member should be paid more than 25k as the thing is useless. they can all have a 10k bonus if there are no delays in one year.
As for driving a bus or a lorry, I reckon 15k is fair for that as well. remember these are unskilled jobs that potentially thousands of people could do with maybe 2 or 3 weeks training.
hardly surgeons, architects or lawyers are they.
trouble is, everyone is overpaid these days. I would cut football wages down to 10k a month. If any footballer don't like that, they can always leave and find another job paying a similar salary.0 -

And what is it that you do?0 -
I was talking to a newspaper boy the other day. He says he clears £12K but won't do the Sunday round as his BMX can't take the weight.0
