  • Hi new to this thread - thanks to everyone for all the inspirations it has motivated me to go through all my cupboards and find out what meals I can plan for this week. So here goes:-

Sun:- Liver & Sausage Casserole With boiled potatoes & broccoli
Mon:- Bacon & mushroom soup with tagliatelle
Tues:- Pizza & Chips & salad (niece is coming for tea)
    Weds:- Chilli & rice
Thurs:- Shepherd pie & frozen peas
Fri:- stuffed Peppers with Mozarella cheese topping
sat:- Rump steak & roast potatoes & vegetables (frozen)

I have also worked out that I have got enough for part of next week too just may need some potatoes and fresh veg & salad

Sun:- Gammon Joint with roasts and veg
Mon:- Chicken Curry with Jacket Potato
    Tues:- Spaghetti Bolognese
Wed:- Beef in ale casserole with mash & veg
Thurs:- Lasagne & Chips & Salad
    Fri:- Chilli & Rice

all meals are homemade with the exception of the Lasagne which I got from Tesco (finest range) which I froze.

Its amazing when you go through your cupboards the amount of food that you actually find - I am not going to go shopping now until I have used up most of my freezer contents and I am going to make a list of things I use regularly and need to stock up on so that I never run out - ie tinned tomatoes etc.

The money that I have saved from not going shopping this week and what I save from next week I will use to stock up on store cupboard items and toiletries also washing powder.

    Good luck everyone xxx

Evening all. Am now entering week 3 of mealplanning and it's all going well ! Planning is really helping towards our GC and £4K challenge and I find myself popping on here to see what I have to cook for dinner each day :D (otherwise I'd forget ! :o )

Really good to see everyone else's plans - I need to get some inspiration as we seem to be eating the same things a lot of the time (although I know kids will eat it so don't mind too much).

Meals for this week as follows:

Breakfast Mon-Fri [strike]is usually porridge or toast with jam/marmalade etc[/strike]
Lunches Mon-Fri [strike]are packed for all of us. Chosen from sandwiches with HM bread, fruit, yoghurt, cheese & crackers, HM cakes (raspberry muffins and madeira cake to choose from this week).[/strike]

    Dinners

    Tues - [strike]Chicken curry[/strike]
Weds - [strike]Sausages and Jacket Potatoes with cheese/beans[/strike]
    Thurs - [strike]Roast chicken and all trimmings[/strike]
Fri - [strike]Chicken & Mushroom pie (with leftover chicken from yesterday), mash and veg[/strike]
Sat - Breakfast - [strike]Pancakes[/strike] changed to porridge
Lunch - [strike]Linguine with bacon, cheese and mushroom sauce[/strike] changed to macaroni cheese
    Dinner - [strike]Oxtail stew[/strike] YUM !
    Sun - Breakfast - [STRIKE]Porridge[/STRIKE]
    Lunch - [STRIKE]Roast Pork & trimmings[/STRIKE]
Dinner - [STRIKE]Pork, stuffing and apple sauce sandwiches[/STRIKE]

Have mealplanned beyond this week too :D - being super-organised which won't last long :o :rotfl:

First meal plan for a while although cook mostly everything from scratch:

Today: Had Jerk Chicken with sweet potatoes and coleslaw (ran out of Kidney beans so couldn't do usual rice and peas)
Monday:Roast Chicken, roast veg (pots, parsnips, swede)
Tuesday: potato waffles, eggs and beans (OH at evening class)
Weds: Jamie Oliver Chicken tikka masala (made today and frozen), rice and naan
Thurs: Fish pie - maybe or maybe will just put a mash lid on the left over beef stew from yesterday
Friday: Sweet and sour chicken noodle stirfry
    Saturday: Cottage pie
    Sunday: Toad in the hole
