Me neither until today! After you grate it you have to stick it in a clean tea towel (well I actually used a muslin square) and squeeze the water out of it, then I added some seasoning and garlic, shallow fried it for a couple of mins on both sides and then bunged it in the oven - but it was a bit greasy so maybe I used too much oil, or it was the wrong temperature.....not sure....Ah thats why I dont know what a rosti is.............I can honestly say that I have never felt the urge to grate a potato:D"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

if you par cook the potato, that can help Snaggles. Cook the potato virtually whole and then grate when a bit cooler, make sure the oven is really hot if you are doing in the oven and also that any oil is also really hot first.

Snaggs, when I make a rosti (although we call it a potatoe slab in our house) which is once in a blue moon. I boil them slightly then grate (when a little cooler), I then show the very hot pan the oil, so about a teaspoon if that then chuck the rosti in and make sure its golden brown both sides, then I stick it in the oven untill piping hot. Works every time plus hardly any oil :j Give it a try

Edity ~ Ok cant type fast enough lol0 -

ooooh, I'm a bit excited. I lost touch with my best friend in 1990 and have spent since 1999 (when I first got internet connection) trying to find her on old school sites, networking sites etc etc.
Her sister unexpectedly got in touch with me yesterday on Facebook and has just given me my friend's email address............I really thought I'd never find her!
