What has this downturn taught you (if anything)?

Personally, it has taught me to appreciate my job far more than in the past. However, the majority of people are still living with their heads in the clouds, somehow thinking that they are immune to the recession! In my workplace, most of my work colleagues are as lazy as ever and the worst thing is that if there are reduncies, the lazy will keep their jobs and people like myself will be given the boot. This country is finished...

Why should that happen if you offer more to your employer?

...To expect the unexpected and always have a Plan B. My hubby has had an income protection policy for nearly 5 years and I can't believe that we thought about canceling it thinking it was a waste of time! He is still in work but if the unexpected should happen then this will be our Plan B.

That you can waste many hours of your life talking to strangers about the issues/problems/symptons on a forum and not make the tinniest effect in the real world.......But i hope i am learning about the housing/BTL/asset bubble and just maybe next time i will spot it in time.

Perhaps he/she was the last in, and "expects" to be the first out?

Isn't that illegal now, as it's likely to discriminate against younger workers?

It's taught me the value of a good brand of toilet paper, and roughage.
