Thanks for the heads up - I just reserved the same one! We were saying when we took our tree down this year that (thanks to our new kitten) we'd need a new one next year ... this one is excellent!

    Hushy

Good luck in actually getting it when you get there! Seems to be pretty darn elusive so far.

  • Exactly the same here! Which store? I went to the Worsley Manchester one and was told they had all been sent back to their warehouse. Got the SA to check the internet whilst i stood there to show her look - stock, but nope, no good.

Was understandably miffed as it was an absolute @r$e to find the store and i had my voucher all printed out aswell! Ah well, what can ya do?

    Really wanted that £8.80 pre-let 6ft tree that valk_scot mentioned :(

If ANYONE manages to get one, please let me know as they are so far phantoms!

same here with the reading calcot store......rang them as the stock check system showed 1 in stock.....response from worker was "oh, system isnt always accurate"...

i said thats daft then as the system shouldnt be available to the general public

must be couldnt care less morons who work there who enjoy wasting people's time

I wasn't even after the elusive tree...I wanted the multi-function indoor/outdoor led lights, bright white, were £39.18, now £5.50.......very good, bargain. Now...WHERE ARE THEY?!?

Doubly peed off as I went to the retail park especialy to make two purchases...the other thing I bought has got to go back as it's incomplete!

Bargain hunting sure ain't all it's cracked up to be!

Well, my story in a nutshell....

I reserved one to collect in store, went in and they told me there was a mistake on the website and they couldn't sell me it at the reserved price. Instructions from HO, apparently. The tree was there, I saw it. I pointed to it and said "That's my tree" and she would have sold me it at full price, so it wasn't reserved for anyone else. Came home intending to write a moaning email to HO.

Got home and there was a message on my answerphone from earlier that morning, telling me my reservation had been cancelled because there were none in store in my branch. Did I mention I had seen the tree there behind CS desk?

Phoned store. They denied all knowlege of who had "said that on the phone but we'll check." Stuck to their original story about an online mistake and HO had instructed them not to sell the trees at the discount price.

Phoned HO. They told me that it was up to the individual store managers as to whether they honored the prices on their website. Tried talking to someone higher up the food chain. They continued to say it was up to the individual manager. They did say that if I could order it direct from the website (which I can't of course) then they would honour the price.

Phoned branch again, who told me manager was not availible and to try later/another day.

Wrote an email to CS at HO detailing all of above in some detail, including names of staff.. Will await response. I bet you all that it will be the standard generic brush off. Never mind, I like writing emails/phoning. I've not called anyone a liar yet.....

I am a bit !!!!ed off about this, can you tell? I'm not big on yelling at junior sales floor staff but I don't like to be given the run around. Watch this space....

Lol...so did I. I just got a phone call from them to say don't bother, all their left over stock went back ages ago and the store is now devoid of anything Xmas.

Well that's what my phone call said and I swear on my mother's grave I saw that exact tree in my local store about an hour later and it was reserved for me. Just not for sale at their website price.

I went to Bradford.. they said there might be some on a clearance table but there wasn't any.

I showed them the stock on the website and she said sorry it must be wrong.

She dug out some star christmas lights but they scanned at £14.99 (even though checking now shows that they are £2.75 on the web!)

Just bought the ones I wanted online, £5.80 postage but still much cheaper than I'd have to pay next year as I wanted some outdoor lights for a tree outside my house :P
  • got back from school and have had an email from bedford store to tell me the items are out of stock, short and sweet, with not a lot of info

Dear Mrs. xxxx, Unfortunately the two items you requested for reservation: 8ft Northfield Pine Tree (93868),6ft Pre-Lit St. Moritz Pine Tree (77035) are not available in this store. Regards,
