Glamazon, I have been drooling over the Ikea website this morning!
I think I will probably go for the least expensive stuff as I cant justify huge amounts spend on nursery furniture. so it looks like its this cot: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00115751
This little wardrobe:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80090474
This changing unit:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20131830
So pretty much £100 to kit out the nursery. Just waiting for some stuff to finish on ebay which should give me about £150, so thats the money sorted!
I wanna go to Ikea NOW!Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
Hi mookie
Looked at that changing unit and whilst it looks good - both me and OH agreed it didn't seem very stable. The SNIGULAIR One which matches the cot is £20 and Sami_Bee is still using it for Chris and he's 2. She also said she would buy it again. The cot is quite low and both OH and said we might struggle to put LO down - I know the more expensive ones have different levels so I would recommend going instore to check them out first.
There was a nice cot in BRU that had 3 different mattress nlevels, converts into a bed and then a sofa! But it was way more expensive and OH and I are looking at 2nd hand stuff anyway - going to check out ebay later on as have £130 in my paypal account!!!
Don't mean to put you off and the changing unit may be have been poorly put togther but check them out in store.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

oh, just seen the catalogue pic and you can change height of base on cot - so seems that might be one we look at as well.

well - Hello there everyone. I'm still here
Nothing happened since last night. I was quite uncomfortable, but once I went to sleep was fine and have bene ever since I woke up!
The house is sparkling and tesco is about to deliver lots of goodies - hubby off to the gym and I'm running out of things to do - so might go bake a cake
No word from Caz - so fingers crossed she's doing better than me
just need to get some dried blueberries - I made fridge cake the other day and discovered I'd given them all the Chris :doh:0 -

Hello
we sound like we've known each other for ages LOL
Shame you're not at work coz I'm just next door at the in-laws
I'd say cots with a few levels are a must, particulary if the nursery will have a wooden floor or you're planning a 2nd soonish afterwards - The ammount of times I've almost ended up in the cot in the middle of the night coz I've slipped on the floor and now I can't reach in coz my bump gets in the way :rotfl:0 -
I know I thought that - I said to OH earlier oh there should be catalogues round here with vouchers and he said who told you that? I was like oh just someone from work - sort of true!
We were open this morning but I decided to work from home - which I didn't so am catching up now! Them houses are big - hadn't noticed them til you said MIL lives there!
We have a bright pink carpet in the room we plan to use as a nursey - little girl in there before we moved in. Might put wooden flooring down - will be easier to clean and if we have a boy he might develop a complex!! OH said we will have call bean Elle if it's a girl as previous owners have welded name plate to the door and we can't get it off :rotfl:
Got ASDA CYO Pizza, garlic bread and smily faces for tea - I'm starvingA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Thanks Glamazon, its like having my own personal shopper and I havent even had to get off the sofa! I was originally going for the changing unit Sami suggested but it says 'white' on the description. Is it white or wood colour. If its not white then I will probably go for that one.Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
it's like a really light natural wood colour - same as the cot they are part of the same range SNIGULAR I think it's called. They might come in white as well but I only saw the changing unit and cot in the light wood. I normally love IKEA but didn't have much time today and it was really busy - also I've felt really weird all day, keep almost walking into things and people. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come!
IKEA is like 5mins from house, so is BRU and NEXT - another 5mins to Mothercare. Which is great especially when I get bigger and won't fancy driving too much.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Our nearest IKEAs are about 90mins away in opposite directions - Leeds or Nottingham. Mind you, that's probably a lot better for my bank balance!
I've been to see my Nan this afternoon. She lives in "sheltered accomodation" - small block of flats for elderly people with emergency pull cords in every room. I found her in the community room, playing cards and gambling for pennies with another three oldies! All had a good gander at my bump and then I had a chat with Nan. Was trying to explain what we were looking for in a pram and about the bases for car seats.. Why oh why did I even attempt that conversation with a 83 year old?!0
