Afternoon ladies!
I'm working from home again today. I was in the office until 9.45pm last night (even after hubby called me at 8.45pm and gave me a proper b0ll0cking for not letting him know where I was) so I had no intention of going in this morning.
Woke up to snow and apparently it is worse in Stoke so decided it wasn't worth it.
Trying to finish up to go on maternity is such a headache...only 5 days left at work, and only 4 of them are in the office and one is a half day because of a midwife appointment and I am really starting to feel the pressure...
Shell - that monitor is the one I have had my eye on for a while (it was the best in the Which report) but hubby has banned my from buying it saying he is not paying that much for a Walkie Talkie  Am thinking I need to get MIL or someone to buy it for me (who isn't quite so mean)
To be fair, it is the first thing that I have really wanted that he has said no to so I shouldn't complain really - I might just tell him to go out and sort it himself if he won't let me have my choice
McSmiler - c'mon now - we want to meet this baby of yours...is there DEFINITELY one in there???
(((HUGS))) to everyone (got a few spare this morning :A )

You need to start buying your bundle of gas some stuff!
Start with something REALLY cute that is not a necessity then move on to the 'hardcore' stuff later on!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I've been wiped out as well - and the surgery called me to tell me my iron is low, so back on the iron I go. They initially called me and said "oh your red blood cells looked funny, so we need to test further for sickle cell and thalassemia.." then asked me a bunch of questions about family history and such. I don't have any family history of either and not from the predominant backgrounds for it either. THEN they said "oh, well, it's probably just cuz your iron is low." Well, they did know I had a history of low iron. So a little panic for nothing.
Hugs to those with family and friends who are ill or injured. Seems to be a lot recently, which is sad. Hope they're all feeling better soon.
Labour vibes to rmac and 3onitsway.
Oh, DH was a lovely man and brought home quarter pound mince patties, lettuce, tomato, mayo and bread rolls for me, as I'd been craving BK whoppers. So for lunch today, I could make a lovely fresh one at home! Yummmmmm!
2 days of using the crutch, and I'm already noticing big improvement in the hip. Still sore, but not the constant aching I was having. I'm hoping it will show some improvement in the back locking up when I'm standing soon. But I'm happy with a lilttle improvement at this point.
We got more snow overnight - and a little morning as well. Looks like we migiht get more. News said Gloucestershire was going to get a fair amount, so we'll see.
3onitsway - boy, so glad the school called back and corrected their error before you had it out with DS! Yikes! But you can't blame yourself for doubting him - after all, you did get a phone call from the school - generally they're supposed to know what they're doing!:rotfl:
As far as monitors are concerned, we have a Tomy Walkabout Platinum Digital and love it! It has a nightlight on it, and digital temp reading so we know how warm/cool his room is, and we can talk to him through it. So at 3am when he wakes up and is calling "Daddy! Mummy! Come get me!" we can push the button and say "Liam, lay back down and go to sleep" to him - then we hear his little voice saying "okay" and he lays back down. Then spent an hour moaning about having to go to work when we're having a day off... He's gone to town to see how the going is, if it's bad he's just going to turn around and come home... I don't think so though, there seems less snow than there was Tuesday to me...
My aunt found out yesterday she has breast cancer, she's booked in for a mastectomy next wednesday... I'm a bit devastated really, she's not just my aunt, she's my best friend, I don't want her to have to go through this... Plus she has a 9yo and a 4yo and those little boys need a Mummy!
I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt, My wonderful Auntie had it nearly 10 years ago, she managed to keep her boobs but lost her lymph nodes in her left arm pit, which means her left arm is always swollen and she lost her hair from the treatmentshe did get a lovely wig tho
the worst thing for her was that the specialist told her that she probably wouldn't have got it if she'd had children  I'm sorry but even if that was true which I very much doubt he could have known it absolutely devastated her! My uncle left her for another woman about 20 yrs ago and she never found her Mr right and so never got the kids she'd always wanted.
As your Aunt has her kids which will give her lots of strength to fight with and survival rate is pretty good too xx0 -
Lots and lots and lots of labour vibes to r.mac and 3onitsway! :j(Maybe the babes know its winter and don't want to catch the snuffles like my poor Jamie!).
