    Oh fcksticks!

Just had a message from a friends husband - she is due the same date as me. (so she's 26+4) She went to hospital Monday night with bleeding - her cervix is 2cm open and they don't know whether she will be able to carry full term. She's still in hospital now and if things don't improve, she will have to stay there until she has the baby :(

Hope all goes well, similar thing happened to my SIL last August, she went in at 27 weeks to local unit, Exeter. Was then moved to Plymouth as no incubators. Then to Bristol, gave birth to twin boys at 29 weeks (the day after the ambulance rise to Bristol). Both babies did fantastic then one was moved to Exeter, 2 weeks later other one moved, then both moved to Torbay. Huge petrol bill for my poor brother.

However, both boys are amazing, no side effects and smaller one now bigger than the other. Happy ending as I'm sure she will have.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Thanks for posting that, it gives a little relief to see that early babies can make it :)

I'm sure my due date is a jinx, I'm getting a bit upset about it now...

Friend who I just posted about is due same date as me and another girl who is due same date as me, is pregnant with twins, one has died inside her and the other is hanging on for dear life :(

I hope to God both of them are OK

there was a woman like that on a tv prog they couldn't put a stitch in coz she had an "incompetent cervix" so they had to just tip her bed up at the foot end to try and keep the baby in
at least her baby has a chance at surviving if it does decide its coming out xx
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

I'm a great believer in positive vibes shellsuit. A very good friend told me that years ago. Had a scan at 18 weeks with DS now almost 15. There were 6 cysts on his brain and I was sent away and told to come back in 10 weeks at which time if they hadn't gone I would need a termination. My friend who was much older than me calmed me down and said he needed positive vibes so I used to sit and talk to him and it helped me through it. Your date is only a rough guide anyway. You've got far enough to relax a bit now, I'm 18+6 and still haven't dared go shopping. Your friends are going through things we can only empathise with as we don't really understand and you're a great friend for worrying so much. If your friend stays in hospital she'll need you to visit, it's so boring after the first few days, as for your other friend I really don't know, what a turmoil for her and her OH. As for you, your bubs comes first. I know it's easy to say but you have to relax. Take care.X
