I became a grandma one month after my 40th birthday, when DD (now 22) had her baby. And then again while still 40, when DIL had her baby, a week before I had DS2.

I gave in and went to the physio today, as my hip was getting increasingly painful. I am now puttering about the house on one crutch. The initial suggestion was two, but one is easier to maneuvre, especially when dealing with a 2yo. I am annoyed that it progressed that quickly and that soon, but at least this will keep it from getting horrific (I hope) by 30-40 wks.

    Suzy - welcome!

Natalie - congrats - and thanks for posting those pics - wow they are amazing!!

My Mum was 36 when my sister got pregnant the first time... 41 when my neice was born...

Ok. Had to read THAT a few times before it clicked. All I could think was "boy, that was a looonnnnngg pregnancy" - and then I saw "the first time". Talk about feeling stupid.....:rotfl:This is what happens when I don't get enough sleep!

Did I not mention that my sister is an elephant? ;)

My sister miscarried her first and third babies... But got my neice and nephew too...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Hi Suzy! Congrats and welcome :D.

We've had the age discussion here a few times! I'm 35 and had Poppy when I was 34 and Jamie when I was 35. We were married over 5 years before deciding to have children - too many things to do and places to see in our 20's! And I definately have more patience now...which is a good thing seeing as I now have 2 under 16m! :p :rotfl:.

Poppy bought me a Dora the Explorer sandwich toaster for Christmas! :T It prints a pic of her on either side! :rotfl:.

    Hope everyone is well today.

    xxx

ooh if ur june app is before your due date then I don't know if it is for that or not :D
round here we go to a clinic called "TLC" you go there for 12wk and 20 wk scans and then book app for after due date to discuss induction I assumed that's what yours is too although it may be that in your area they discuss the induction just before your due

I'm sure its different everywhere. My scans are done at the hospital where I'm going to give birth. I'll have a look through my paperwork when I get home. I'm sure it'll say there what the appointment is for. My due date is 26th June so 1st of June to discuss induction seems mighty eager to me.
