Update to the above - I've now cancelled. Everyone else was feeling the same, including - I suspect - the host. Feeling very good about saving myself the remorse!0

I had a wine tasting evening from Pieroth last week. I had bought a voucher at the Ideal Home Show for £19.99 which was for four people on a week day/evening.
We all enjoyed the evening, the salesman was lovely and did not try to push us into buying. I actually said to everyone before he arrived, "please don't feel obliged to buy, I probably won't bother" but the wine was really nice and although more than I would normally pay, we ordered 12 red and 6 white between us.
I must admit when he told us the prices of each wine (only when asked) he did mention "plus VAT" in a very quiet voice, but I picked him up on that. What he did not mention was the £8.95 delivery cost, which then had VAT added to it.
I have also booked a weekend evening wine tasting for September, because I bought two vouchers back in March. I very much doubt if he will get an order from those I have invited to that one!
If you can get a voucher for a cheap wine tasting evening with this company then do it, it's good fun and we tasted 12 nice wines, plus I got a bottle as a hostess gift. You really don't have to buy any wine.0 -
I went to wine tasting organised by friends,,,the wine was Romanet...very medicore and since then they have plauged me with phone calls...despite me telling them and emailing them not to contact me.
I ma now taking them to court for multiple breaches of legislation around cold calling and harrassment........do not buy from these people...they will only hassle you0 -
This is not a scam. It doesn't say six bottles. It says at least 6 types. This is of course on the tastings. Which are legit. If you turn down their wine tasting. Like I did. They called me later and asked if I'd try 12 bottles for 99.16. As an alternative to a tasting. I a agreed to this and got a case of 12 with 4 types of wine in. I have got to say that 3 of the 4 were outstanding and the 4th wasn't bad. I got a good deal I think. But now asking the wife for a tasting for my 50th birthday present. Nothing wrong with this company. Impressed.0

Mmm not sure what to make of this Mick, your first post is giving praise to a firm other posters have negative views on.0 -

Definite spam.
How else would someone come across a post in a forum that was last updated over three and a half months ago and was buried in depths of the forum.0 -
Even worse,15 1/2 months :beer:I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

.....and the poster's username raises further suspicions..."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I should have gone to Specsavers!0 -
It's come round again now. This time it's a free cheese knife set.
Since they included a pre-paid envelope, I'd scrawled a few choice expletives across the survey and mailed it back to them.
Since they wasted my time with their unsolicited offers, the least I can do is cost them another stamp.0
