XBox PAL 600 question

I got an XBox 360 for Christmas. I'm much too old for it really but it's fun.
I've got Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 which is great but I also got Gears of War 1 and 2 but it asks me to switch the settings to PAL 600 and then it's all blurred, so I can't play them.
I think the TV's not up to the job. How do I know which games will be okay on my TV before I buy them?
Was thinking of buying Asda's Deal of the Day, Fable 2.

Pal 600?
I dont think thats right. NTSC 60Hz maybe?
And surely you dont HAVE to change to play do you? Just select to keep PAL 50Hz which should work fine:idea:0 -

according to the fable 2 box the console needs to be on 60 hz, ive just tried playing fable 2 with the console on 50hz and it wouldn't play it,0 -
Thanks chaps.
I've found a few discussions on this elsewhere and it appears that some games won't play at all on unless you're on PAL 600.0 -
Thanks DCFC79. I'm sure you're right but on the console itself they refer to it as the PAL 50 or 60 settings (sorry, I said 500 or 600) and while some of the discussion boards I've checked refer ti the Hertz, most talk about the PAL setting.0

I maybe wrong but im sure when it says pal 60 it means pal 60 Hz even though on the console it doesnt mention Hz0
