Bloody stupid router!!!!

I had these problems. I could connect my girls' laptops and the PC but mine wouldn't at all.
Eventually after many phone calls and still nada i just turned the whole lot off.

When i turned it on the next day everything worked!

Just a thought. Is your wireless card switched on on the laptop? Mine turns on and off with a 2 key combination. My mate's turns on and off with a small button hidden away at the side. There is likely to be some sort of light lit if the card is enabled.

I don't know how to turn it on, never mind know if it is swiched on :rotfl:

i assume that your lap top has wireless enabled if not try searching for new wireless connection if this does not work try setting up new wireless connection and if laptop still says no wireless connections avaiable then suspect the wireless card is not installed properly or that the card is faulty

well I have 3 quck keys on my lappy one for IE one for OE and one for wireless, I have pressed the wireless one and now its flashing at me

Just how to set up the security

right click my networks then click on properties there should be an icon with a wireless network sign which if it is working will say so. if it has a cross on it it will be disabled and needs to be re -activated or try setting up new wireless connection if this fails it could be the card that is faulty or the router.

Erm - are you ready for this:

Change the SSID from the default and hide it
Choose an encryption method (WEP, WPA etc)
Create an encryption key
If you want to go one step further put in the MAC addresses of your PC's and turn on filtering

Tell the laptop the identical settings and there ya go

(Email me a copy of the manual because I can't find one and I'll tell ya the exact pages if you like)

where to I go to put this lot in, I have been in so many areas of the comps trying to figure it out, I have forgot where everything is
