I also bought this router and have had no problems at all, have you phones linksys? They were extremely helpfull when i phoned them. You call an 0870 number and then they tell you the number has changed to a freephone number. You actually call America!

I had to plug the ethernet cable in to set mine up, took all of about five minutes!

    Hope this helps

Did you set yours up using the cd or the instruction leaflet?

  • Have you connected the ethernet lead up and gone to the address http://192.168.1.1/?
You do not have to connect to the internet for this.

Can the pc connect to the router and are you able to login? no, it will configure the router to the settings and then tries to connect

I'm not sure I understand your answer.

Un plug the router from the internet. Just had your pc plugged up to the router.

You should be able to access the routers config by a typical ip such as 192.168.0.1 (it should say the exact address in the manual). Upon going to this address you'll be prompted for a username and password. These are your router credentials, and they'll be set to something like "admin" <blank>, or "admin", "admin".

    Think of it like this:
    pc > router > internet.

First thing is to get the pc > router part done, then you can work on getting the router > internet going.

Also, with your pc hooked up to the router do the following:

Start (ie the Windows Start button) > Run > type "cmd", press Enter. A command prompt will appear. Type "ipconfig /all" and press enter. Paste the results here.
