Sorry mate, I just realised I never replied to you regarding the very useful Centerparks info you gave. Certainly looks like something we'd enjoy so thanks.
    Any suggestions
I'd just give em a ring with a meter reading and tell them your DD is too high. Don't see how they can argue really.

We had our 6 monthly water bill though a few weeks ago and it was £150. Bit shocked as it's 50% higher than the last one and pricing identical. Just wondered whether people tended to use more water over the winter as we at a loss as to how we've used so much more. TBH I would expect the summer water bill to be higher if anything.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday :) Centreparcs sounds brill, I'll have to save up and go...maybe next year....

I'd suggest that you cal with a meter readig on your water but that's just me personally.

Your budget looks good to me!

Why do little things have to crop up just when you don't need them too. Printer ink has just run out (I did go chase after it :rotfl:).

Found a really good deal on ebay for 2 x black and 1 x colour for £16.99. These also hold more ml than the original version.

Will have to squeeze this into the tight budget somehow. Hmmmm, where can I hide it

  • Not that I doubt you haven't had a good search for the best deals but... in desperate need for ink immediately, I went to Staples and found out they give £5 off the cartridges my printer uses if I hand them the empty one. I usually recycle the empties so was able to to that swap first time. When I had more time I found out that actually that £5 off beat any online deals I could find.

Depends what you're printing... hide it as entertainment if it's for fun, groceries if it's a recipie?!?!

    Hi,

Well done on having such a mature head at 20!!

My fiancee and I are in a similar position to you (although 7 years older!), we got a 100% mortgage in 2007 over a 35 year term, then found this website! Not quite the right way round but...

We are now overpaying all we can, but I must say, I am mightily impressed with your budgeting.

I find it a real motivation to think about how much money we will save, got the term down from 35 to 21 years with overpayments.

Good luck with clearing the mortgage

[Edit: I see your LTV is much healthier than mine!]

    Hi everyone :hello:

Stats below for balance, overpayment made, "interest saved" that month, "interest saved" to date, and months taken off (denoted as balance/OP/interest saved that month/total interest saved/months saved).

    June 09: £133,200.00/£1,008.83/£4,102.48/£44,356.56/67
    May 09: £134,250.00/£490.93/£2,065.86/£40,254.08/61
    Apr 09: £135,000.00/£1,137.13/£4,970.81/£38,188.22/58
    Mar 09: £136,269.03/£1,000/£4,588.67/£33,209.26/50
    Feb 09: £137,459.47/£740/£3,538.81/£28,620.59/43
    Jan 09: £138,323.21/£2,030/£10,364.53/£25,081.78/37
    Dec 08: £140,466.66/£2,380/£13,508.64/£14,717.25/22
    Nov 08: £142,970.30/£100/£605.23/£1,208.61/2
    Oct 08: £143,170.74/£100/£603.28/£603.28/1

I have now started to included the balance in the monthly stats. For some reason, I've failed to realised this is quite a fundamental piece of info!

Most of this months OP has come from withdrawing my £990 investment into match betting. Topped up the rest to make the balance a round figure :o

Bit more money saving news to come. I'll report that later once it has all been sorted.

    Thanks John

When you say LTV, we feel we're trying to fight off negative equity with a big fat overpayment stick at the mo. Using our lenders index linked valuation, the house is roughly worth £134,529 in April (not looking forward to May figures being released). There hasn't been any houses sold around here, so have nothing to compare to. Not planning on moving any time soon, so shouldn't affect us, but not a nice feeling to have.

Just had a look at my records, and if we hadn't OPd our balance as of yesturday would be 142,352.12. That would not be a good LTV me thinks
