Since they say they are doing the double points (2 for £1 spent instore) at least until the summer, I wouldn't expect them to do double value when you spend points to happen til after then, otherwise they are giving you 4x value rather than double iyswim.

    It's only a game

Is there any way of getting back expired Clubcard Days out Deals Tokens?
The only thing that is constant is change.

    Hello

I'm sure this has been asked/answered before, but can't see it anywhere myself.

My MIL lives in Ireland and comes over few times a year and stocks up on bits in Tescos she can't get back home while she's over here. She has got 3 separate temporary clubcards with points on (not sure why three?!) and has given them to me to add to my clubcard. Can I do this and if so how? I should add they have been sitting around (my fault) for a few months.

    cheers in advance

Not now. Tesco's did use to put them back onto your account, but the last ones I sent back were refused and have heard of this happening to others on here.

As far as I know, they will still put in date ones back onto your account (eg if you change your mind on a deal)
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

not sure if this helps but from tesco clubcard website

I've never received any Vouchers and think I deserve some - what can I do?
Please call our Helpline on 0800 591 688 and a member of the team will be able to look at your account details. Please note that if you haven't yet registered your temporary card, we won't be able to send you your Vouchers. But not to worry, you can register your temporary card by simply calling the Helpline and giving them your details.

I've lost / damaged my temporary Card and want to transfer my points onto a new one. How do I do it?
If you're a registered member and have lost your card, don't worry, your points will have automatically been transferred onto your new Clubcard. If the card has been damaged, you can use your plastic permanent Clubcard from the Welcome Mailing we sent you, and you won't lose any points by doing this.

If you haven't yet registered your Clubcard but have a record of your temporary Clubcard number, it's not a problem for us to transfer your points. If you don't have your Clubcard number we unfortunately can't credit any points to a new Clubcard. If your Card has been damaged, you can pick up another temporary one and keep collecting points, but you'll need to give our Helpline team a call on 0800 591 688.

Why don't you get a key fob and give the spare one to your Mother In Law, and the next time she is over and shopping at Tescos, she uses that key fob and you will automatically get the points, if she is happy giving you her points. This saves all the hassle with the temporary cards.

When you wrote 'Ireland' did you mean RoI or NI? Points from one country aren't compatable with another i.e. Eurozone RoI & UK £ sterling.
But assuming for a moment that all the temp cards, were only used in the UK, then no great problem for Clubcard to add them to your clubcard account (you may get more cards sent out - but not to worry). Make sure you mention to Clubcard about the historical points on the cards.
Also, agree with previous point, about giving a key ring card to the MiL (perhaps put your initials on it -so she knows whose points they are).

Thanks. Sorry meant ROI. "Ireland" to me is always Eire and NI, Northern Ireland (obviously!)

Yes, I understand what you re: Eire.
Don't worry about the temp card, by all means mention about your MIL from Eire - you may get an additional card as a result, but not to worry - you can always keep it in a safe place just in case you lose a card!
And, because they are in the midst of a mailing, and all the data is 'frozen' they can't do any mergers for two/three weeks.

  • I hope no one minds but this comment is mostly to brag about my OH, but perhaps it will help someone else as well.

We were in Tesco's today but went through separate queues because we each had till spits to use. I was using a Co-op one and he didn't want to be seen with me when I did so because he knew there would be a big debate about whether I could use it. Well sure enough he was right, there was, but after the cashier asked 3 people she finally got told to put it through so that was great.

However, when we were walking outside I asked my OH and it turned out he had forgotten to use his till spit! It was for £6 off and soon to expire, so I asked him to go back inside and ask for his £6. Two seconds later he came back out and said they had refused it. So I insisted he march back in there and tell them in that case he wanted to return all his groceries for a refund so he could repurchase them and get the £6 off! After a lot of grumbling (he's very shy about making a fuss) he did it and they immediately gave him £6! I was so proud of him, and although he was a little shaken by the whole thing I think he was pretty pleased, too.

So if you forget to use a till spit, try the "well I'm returning everything, then" line and you should come out with your money back!
