  • Does anyone remember the Tesco promotion, in December 2011, whereby if you took out a 2-year contract from Tesco phone shop (HTC Wildfire S with T Mobile) you would be credited with 20,000 Tesco Clubcard points? It was mentioned on one of Martin's e-mails. Well, I did this but only received 10,000 Tesco Clubcard points. I wondered if anyone else was in a similar positon.

I have a printout of my order clearly stating the 20,000 points. When the last lot of vouchers came out in February I was given 10,000 points and since then various Tesco Clubcard staff (I had imagined 'the Clubcard team' sitting in an office somewhere rather than being disparate staff in Call Centres in Cardiff and Dundee, etc.) have promised to sort it out and haven't. I thought I had finally sorted things out when I managed to get an email address and phone number for 2020 Mobile, who seemingly deal with Tesco Phone Shop problems. I scanned all the info to them and it was attached a 'slogger' and sent to Clubcard. Clubcard deny receiving it and claim not to know what a 'slogger' is and the person at 2020 Mobile no longer works there! Back to square one - I was told to copy the info and send it by post (as they can't receive emails from the public) to a named person at Tesco Clubcard. Only problem is that she works in Cardiff and I was told to send the info to Dundee where they would copy it and email it to her and she would manually add the points. I live in hope but have my doubts!

Anyone any other ideas? I am getting to the stage where I feel I really can't take this any further but I certainly have no intention of letting Tesco get away with it. I wonder if I should write to one of the 'Your Money' pages and see if a newspaper will take it up on my behalf.

sorry have no idea what a slogger is either!

    however, email
    philip.clarke@uk.tesco.com

the CEO of Tesco with what you have said above, and email him the info you originally sent, he can ensure it is sent to the right department and dealt with, rather than you having to post it!

good luck and hope you get your points sorted.

You to coin a phrase 'barking up the wrong tree'.

For example, if you looked in your bank a/c and your salary wasn't as much as you expected - you wouldn't pester the bank, you'd see your payroll dept., or your manager.

Whilst CC can tell what points are on your account and where they've come from - apart from minor adjustments they don't put them on - especially for promotional points.
You need to contact the Phone Shop who were running the promotion. They need to resubmit the additional points request, through their system - it is their promotion.
Or you could try via tescomobile.com, but once CC say it's not there the origintor of the promotion is always the next point of contact.

I have only just been given the facility to see how many points are allocated to each transaction on my clubcard account.

(I have a credit card that is also the clubcard.)

I have just noticed that I have not been getting the correct amount of points on some of the transactions. At first I thought it was just the petrol but now I have looked back I see it is in some of the stores as well.

Tesco have said it is to do with the card not being 'registered'??? they are going to sort it out and make sure I get the missing points.
I would like to know how long this has been happening for as I have a feeling I have missed out on a lot of points!!!

So beware if your card is the same, worth checking your allocated points.

Well.. yes... I do not understand that myself!! Does not make a lot of sense to me.

They rang me yesterday, twice, as I was just going out so I did not have the time to query this.

All seems a bit odd I must say. I will just have to wait until they get back in touch with me again.

I have had a tesco credit card/clubcard for years. I hate to think how many points I have potentially lost out on.

Do you keep all your receipts and check them against the points received?

I have the Tesco credit card/ clubcard and also the Clubcard Plus.
Thank you for reading this message.

First of all the easy one - fuel points - you get 1 point for every £2.00 you spend if you use a clubcard - what everway you pay for it. However, if you don't use an ordinary CC, but just use the credit card you will get 1 point for every £1.00 you spend - it will show that on the receipt.
When they said about the card not being 'registered' did they refer to the Credit Card or your ordinary clubcard!? Very unusual if the former. It usually relates to CC that don't have any name & address.
When you looked on-line was the card listed in 'view your cards'?Even if not you may have more than one account i.e. the transactions are elsewhere i.e. you'd get more than one statement.
Have you got any receipts that say 'you could have received xx clubcard points' = CC not working. Or have you got receipts where the total does not change using just that card = CC working but points not being processed.
Finally, does the CC no on the receipt relate to a card with your name on the front, or a key fob card - which may not relate to your name!!?
