Could have been me... I owed Welcome £3400odd after paying them £100 a month for about 26 months on a £2600 loan!!!!

Basically I was being hounded by their debt recovery agency The Lewis Group (not sold debt, just working on behalf) for ages and it was going up and up, I had moved and stuff too so they were having problems getting hold of me. I eventually came into some cash from the CICA (Criminal Injury Compensation Authority) after some idiot hit me over the head with a bottle of wine and I required 30 staples to put it back together... but that's another story

I called them and basically said you can chase me for ever but I will not have any cash to offer a settlement again for some time so they best just accept the £1200 and be happy with it.... also, a condition of this was to have any reference to Welcome Finefarce deleted from my credit files completely and that I wanted that in writing.... put me on hold for 5 mins while they called Welcome and came back and agreed.

    Result!

That was one of 5 defaults, a CCJ and a load of late payment marks I managed to completely remove from my credit files in 2007/2008... it can be done! :D

It was you mate - of course..... you got the local branch to knock it right down - result and a half mate :T

p.s. whats your cag name then? mines the same as here

Yes mate, their HomeHub is great and with the phone that you get you get a second number and use internet for calls. I used to pay £65pm in total for phone and BB. Since I went to the new homehub I now pay £30 pm to BT and get a quarterly bill for about £30 for the internet calls. So i'm saving for sure, plus BT give all 0870 etc numbers for free which is great!

It never goes down and I always get 54MBps - never dies and never had a problem. I have 3 laptops and 2 desktops linked to network

yeah im the same terrible creture of habbit.we had every intension of going to bt,but we couldnt turn that down.im not very good with techno stuff,so the reason we stuck with them previously is there router seems to offer the most wireless access points on the market, for a isp supplied product.great online account options to,for changing /checking payments.deffo going to bt next year, the extra cost is worth the better product.
were all like that with changing stuff, isnt that the banks favourate customers????
