Barclaycard will not give you a credit card if there is adverse information on your credit file. Wait for your default to fall off and then you will be able to get mainstream credit. I had the same problem and when my defaults fell off my credit score when up I got HSBC credit card and overdraft.
Thank you PARIS 5000 will wait till late dec get some green 0 and go for it and see how my credit rating is with no default on

If they post an agreement out then they have accepted you :)

That's good to know. Does anyone know how long it takes Sygma to post a card out once you've returned the CCA

Eagerly awaiting the post for the next few days which will hopefully bring me not only a nice shiny accessory card which will be my first credit card for 4 years but also a nice cheque for £1000. Which is nice!

Why do you need the tuxedo cards if you have proper debit and credit cards.

cos they are pre loaded and I had them from ages ago..... I use them linked to paypal and for certain dodgy online purchases like bongs and skins

    Hi again everyone !

    Well i tried them all:

    1) Vanquis came back in milliseconds - Jog on
    2) Provident came back in milliseconds - Jog on
    3) Aqua came back in milliseconds - Jog on
    4) Capital One are getting back to me for further information but im expecting to be declined on that aswell !

(Got to be something common like being self employed for them all to decline)

Ive now applied for a RED fuel card, similar usual credit checks but sounded very helpfull and possibly accomodating so my application is currently in the hands of the credit control gods !

Thanks to everyone who chipped in with some answers and yeah this is a very warm, welcoming and friendly forum / thread !

    Cheers,

    Andy

PS: I know its a bit off topic but i'll let you all know if im sucessful or not with getting my fuel card when i find out :D

PPS: Oh and by the way try "The Homegrown Fantasy" coffeeshop on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, not so touristy !

    Look here mate: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1626277

This lists what to look for, try JD Williams next....
